Not going into gear sometimes

2007 Mazdaspeed 6, all stock, has anyone ever had this issue before? Couple weeks back my car wouldn't go into a gear at all at a dead stop once the car was warmed up and driven a few miles. I took it back to the dealership and they said the pressure plate springs were worn out so I let it sit for a few weeks to come up with the money to fix it. This past weekend I took the car out and I didn't have any issues with getting it into to gear at a dead stop, I did notice it felt a little notchy when I'd put it into first and then shifting to second once I was rolling. The rest of the gears felt smooth as butter. Any ideas? My dad and I passed around the idea that maybe the slave cylinder needs to be bled. It seems possible that first and second gear the clutch isn't fully disengaged. Thanks in advance!

Bleed your master cylinder and slave first.

Dont go into expensive repairs like friction disc/pressure plate replacement yet, save that for last.

That's what I'm trying to do right now, do you think there might be air in the system? It's a bit too inconsistent I feel to be a hard part like the clutch. Thanks!

Guess I'll give that a shot after I bleed the whole system, there's no defining symptoms to a bad a slave cylinder?

Yup could be air on there, also the fluid does evaporate over time. I can tell you from experience that every few years my clutch needs a bleed to feel better.

Gotcha, ill get on it this weekend and hopefully my clutch will be fixed! Is there a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder?

Nope no bleed nipple...of course there is how else are you supposed to bleed it

S197 mustangs dont have a bleed nipple since the slave is inside the bellhousing. They actually have to vacuum the Dot3 out, and shoot fresh stuff in. This is all done from the reservoir.

It's a pain, so there are aftermarket kits to add an aux bleed nipple.
 
Just giving an update, the issue had seemed to go away on its own which was weird but proceeded to bleed the clutch anyway and no real change, been driving it now since and haven't noticed any huge issues, only thing I've noticed is first is a little clunky to get into from a stop but that might just be my lack of manual experience, working on trying to smooth out my shifts (mainly 1-2) before the car spits the rear diff out the back hahaha thanks everyone for the help!
