Power steering rack line replacement

Hey guys,

I have a small hole in the power steering rack line due to corrosion. The power steering fluid is leaking everywhere so i have no power steering anymore. Its one of the lines that goes from the top of the steering rack to the bottom of the rack. Im looking around for parts and called the local mazda dealer only to find out the part is discontinued. At this point I only really have a few options:

a) Find the part online
Part number: gp9a3245y
And I couldn't find this part anywhere. The other option would be to pay 130$ for a used steering rack on ebay and use the line off that but I would like to avoid that.

b) Fix the part
I was thinking of welding it but the line is corroded so i doubt that will work.

c) Make a custom line
Im thinking of making a custom line and flaring it but one end has a banjo bolt so ill have to either find a banjo line or use a banjo adapter somehow.

At this point i feel like im sol since i cant find the part anywhere and it looks like its beyond repair.

Any ideas on what i could do would be great.
 
I know a local company called Charleston Rubber and Gasket makes customs brake lines and hoses for whatever you need. Maybe there is something like that in your area. Just take them your old hose and have them make a new duplicate.

Thanks, ive been looking around a bit and im sure ill find something. The only issue is that i think this line has a banjo adapter at the end ... Not sure if that's doable given that I can't find any lines with a banjo adapter on one end ...

I was wondering if i could just make a line with a rubber line and an fittings. Im just scared that the pressure difference will affect the power steering. (given these lines are larger in diameter).
 
FattiMotorWorks.com scraps Mazdas and may have that line. I know of a couple scrap guys on Facebook too.

Any shop that makes hydraulic lines for heavy equipment should be able to make something for you

Just so were on the same page, this is the line i need to replace:

I called a hydraulics shop around here and it looks like they will be able to make one for me. Ill have to take it out and bring it to them so we will have to see. Thanks for all the suggestions!
 
So i just got off the phone with the guys that said they might be able to fabricate a line ... for 500-600$.:rage: I honestly gave up at that point and just bought a rack and pinion from a junk yard i found at car-parts.com for like 150$. Hopefully the line will be in alright condition ... At least the junkers told me they wont sell the rack and pinion if the line is in really bad condition.
