Raider's Neverending love/hate with Christine

After a much needed height adjustment, some exhaust stuff, a surprise clutch pedal replacement and a lot of tidying up, Christine is home for the night. Tomorrow she heads to Ohio. Tim, I cannot thank you enough for your help. IMG_2293.jpeg IMG_2294.jpeg IMG_2295.jpeg att.5Yw5ZdOrNTnbvFq7Wivupa0VQYgGUYGRhtpAdkSwOXw.jpeg

She has arrived and is in the garage. What a drive. Internet is trash until tomorrow so it is taking forever to get pics to upload. IMG_2403.jpeg IMG_2433.jpeg IMG_2391.jpeg

May the new location be kind to everyone you know. May the speed be a comfortable ride too!!!

Might not look like much, but I got the exhaust system set up. Didn't have a tip after adding a silencer. Clamps removed in exchange for welds. Next stop is wheels and tires. Oh and figure out what to do with the Tenzos.

From 2" lower than stock to over 3" higher. Method 17x8 38et 502 wheels, Michelin Cross Climate 2 225/45/17 tires. Custom built BC coilovers. Swift Springs. Now I am able to get in and drive this terror.

Open to ideas on softer rear springs. Back end is like mine, a little stiff.

What spring rates are you running now boo?

Put some miles on it before you change the springs it will loosen up

Justin who won the build never found out. BC blew him off.

They have a few thousand miles on them from the Throtl build winner.

I might only need softer rear springs, front is nice. Rear is as stiff as my back

Hmmm.....

On mine I am running 500 front and 500 rear. The front is deliciously stiff, the rear is too bouncy. The rear is oversprung for the weight. A better setup would be 500 front, about 350-400 rear.

On the factory kw v3's that I still have on, spring rate was 400 front, rear was progressive at around 250-500ish range. The mismatch of linear and progressive springs, is the most annoying and unsettling shit you can do to a car. The front felt nice and well planted considering the weight of the car, the rear always felt untamed and all over the place.

I forget what the factory spring rates and exact corner weights were. I have to dig up those numbers from my ancient notes.

Anyway...

That's why I ask about spring rates. Now... with that kind of lift you have a ton of clearance and should have a fair amount more of suspension travel, so going softer will be desirable. Probably like a 250 front and 200 rear would be firm enough to reduce excessive squat/brake dive/sway to not feel dangerous, while still allowing that suspension to flex a little.

My numbers may be a little off. I'm quite high right now. But you get the idea.

Much love!

Yeah there is almost zero squat. It's almost like a hydraulic setup. Fronts feel fine. Weird.
