Because the leak is so bad it coated the starter. And 162k is pretty high up on miles for a 22-23 lb tune. A couple grand to keep the block in 1 piece is not that bad.

Yes, works great. I used it when I had a leak on a trans pan. It kept it sealed for a few years until I replaced the gasket.

Pistons from PD Tuning and rods from Graveyard Performance arrived this week. It's going to be a bit until installed but it's going to happen. And will hopefully be good to go for years to come.
