At this slightly lowered height with a 245/45r17 on a 17x9 +45 RPF1 I never rubbed with people in the back. Even squatting doing a pull with passengers, no rub. Just a slight roll in the rear too.

Good to know. For some reason, I am really drawn to the 17x9 RPF1 look on the Speeds. Might be a setup I will try in the future, but I still need to upgrade my suspension first.

225/45/17 Toyo Proxes on 17×9 45 with BC BR coilovers on stock set up and 5.5 spacers front and rear from Carquest. I am looking to change this set up especially the spacers. I know majority go with JBR 5mm spacers but looking to see what other companies would be good for this set up.

17 x 9, +35 up front, +45 in the rear, (i have 2 full sets)
255/40/17 RE71R tires
No spacers required, no rubbing up front, minor rubbing in the rear when theres alot of weight back there
this is my street/track setup, no rubbing on track under any load yet
lowered on ST coilovers
3* of camber up front thanks to corksport camber plates

just ordered a set of 17x9 +45.
i think i've read so many posts that i'm confusing myself and can't really tell what i might need to do depending on tire size. i ordered 5mm spacers that i assume i'll put on the front.
i have stock suspension for now. at most what i'd do is perhaps some swift springs in the future. never coilovers. i don't really daily this i guess. switch off with my truck and i rarely have a passenger. i doubt i ever have rear passengers again. i haul little to nothing in the car (in regards to weight in the back).
so my questions are as follows:
1. what tire size can i get without rolling the rears? i have seen everything from 235-255 and some pu owners have said they didn't roll. i will roll if i have to but if i don't need to then that's better for all!
2. if i didn't roll rears now and got away with it would i have to anyways if i put the swift springs on?
3. tire profile - 40 or 45? i know there are pros and cons to both. i'm sort of looking at it from a fitment perspective.
i know much of this personal preference of the look and how it feels/drives. i had 245/40/17 in my head for awhile but @JohnnyTightlips said do 45s or he'd punch me in the face. might be worth it.
anyway...thoughts and/or words from those who have these is appreciated. cheers.

RPF Gang 4lyfe. I run a 5mm spacer up front to clear coils with 245/45/17 tires. Out back I have a mild fender roll and 245/40 that came on the wheels. Might bump to 255/40 next time I need replace to them.

This was the same wheel/tire setup on my 1st gen, lowered on Swift springs.
Also, tpms should pretty much be universal as far as I know.

i thought i was told that depending on the angle of the rim that some may or may not fit. i dunno. guess we'll see!

I am going with a 17x9 RPF1 in Gold against Crystal White Pearl Gen 1, but having difficulty coming up with the tire sizing. The following posts are probably the most poignant I've seen, and really have me backing off the 255/40 in lieu of 245/45.

255 will give you 10mm more tread, over the 245. Might as well get as much as you can.
40 vs 45, the 45 will give you just a couple of mm's of height, vs the 40. Honestly kind of a minimal difference between the 2.
I run 255/40r17 on my rpf1's. Last 2 sets of tires were the same size too. No issues what so ever.
So really up to you, and maybe whichever you can get a better price on.

Spent all day reading and reviewing, talking with some folks in the shout box (Thanks @KiwiFlavor @Awafrican).
Wanted to post what I have found purely as knowledge-share in case anyone in the future is interested in the 17x9 RPF1 fitment details.
Speedo Considerations:
Based on all I found, it would seem that 245/45 has a greater change to rub than 255/40 would?

Speedo Considerations:
- 245/45 is a -0.25 difference in the speedo, almost exactly stock.
- 245/40 is > 3% difference, so this tire size has fallen off my consideration.
- 255/40 is a 2.3% difference in speedo, within an acceptable range.
- 245/45 is 8mm taller than 255/40.
- I can't say with certainty but comfort itself seems to be negligible at 8mm difference in sidewall.
- Having a turbo, 255 puts more tread to the pavement, but I have read it can introduce sloppiness during turning to which I'm not certain how much it will directly affect the daily drive between the two.

255 ends up being right on the edge of thr rim.
Regarding wide tires making your turning sloppy, you have to get like a 275 tire which pokes out way passed the lip of the rim. If that was the case, it makes all your handling sloppy, not just your steering.
One thing to note, whether 245 or 255, you will notice some mild understeer from going into a wider tire than stock. Still worth the trade off in my opinion.
