Well, fellas. This isn't bad for a tired motor that literally rolled over 83k miles today.

IMG-20190517-WA0006.jpg

Now to find a way to keep tq from nose diving past 6500 rpm.

It did the same thing on last year's setup, on the dyno. Made peak tq around 6k, then nose dived down to 400lbft by the Rev limit. Could be a total symptom of the motor being tired, or it needs some more boost or timing up top haha. Or more realistically, it's the bone stock head.... Either way, can't complain since it's made it this long

Lots of headroom left can't wait to see what your simple fuel set up can do, impressed with your 325lph too thought it would be near the limit

Welp, tried to make a few passes at the track yesterday. First pass was planned for rolling off the line and giving it the beans.

Car started breaking up around 5800rpm immediately in 1st and 2nd gear. Logged the run, so was able to go thru and look and see afr leaning way out around 5800 and weird fluctuations in all other areas.

Turns out...

Just swapped mine out 2 days ago.

If you dont want to reuse the washer on the old PRV, you can use the copper washer that Mazda lists for the OEM turbo oil feed line.

50 miles so far, fuel pressure is great, and no leaks at the washer.

PRV swapped on Sunday. And also redid the coolant line for the heater core bypass.

Flashed a new map targeting lower Hpfp desired pressures since I'm back to a stock PRV. Supposed to take the car to a custom exhaust place tomorrow to have a custom dump tube with a brace made, although they didn't respond to my confirmation inquiry today. So we'll see in the morning..

Also did some fresh oil yesterday and replaced the corroded quick releases as the buttons were fused shut. Kind of baffling to me since the car sees no salt. But oh well0526191626.jpg 0526191626a.jpg 0527191307a.jpg 0527191352.jpg 0527191405.jpg 0527191451b_HDR.jpg

It has to be. I only run 93.

Funny how high corn makes black death with certain oils, yet it leaves your turbo hot side white. It seems to have done the same with your relief valve.

That is quite curious...

Shop Canceled on me this morning on the dump tube as they're apparently stuck on another project. So plan B, and I like this plan better anyways because this guy is actually supporting the mazdaspeed platform and developing new things... Getting a dump tube from Jimi at DTP Fabworks. He had me call him this morning and will be shipping out a dump for me to test fitment with tomorrow!

Welp, thanks to the help of etipp98, fuel cell setup for PI is underway. Should be a pretty affordable setup once all is said and done... and will give me room to grow once I have a fresh motor whenever that time comes.

Will be running an RCI 3 Gallon cell, aem 385lph in line pump, and an aeromotive fpr.

Already have a 10 micron post pump filter with a stainless steel element sitting in the house.

Ordered most of the fittings today (not any of the hose end fittings though. Gonna mock everything up first to see if I need 90's or straights)

Capture+_2019-05-30-21-27-03.jpg

Also a mounting bracket for the aem pump (it's the same dimensions as a Bosch 044)

Have a bunch of summit bucks (cash value coupons they send when you spend too much money there) , so I'll be running to summit this weekend to purchase the cell, pump, 100 micron pre filter with stainless steel element, and the fuel pump relay kit.

Then once mocked up, will get the Fuel lines and hose end fittings.

We'll be running all -8 fittings and lines!

When do you expect to be running in the fuel cell set up? Interested in seeing how it works for you. 93 in tank and ethanol in cell?

Once everything arrives from ebay, just a matter of Jake (etipp98) and my schedule lining up to mount and plumb everything. Aside from that, as far as power goes... Idk how much more my motor can take (particularly the bone stock head), so this is more preparation for next build. But we'll push it as far as I feel comfortable for now

But in the mean time, either straight e85 or ignite red in the fuel cell, and either 93 or e30 in the main tank. We shall see.
