Does mark have pro atr or whatever? Or would you have to take cobbs stupid class to get atr for him for this car?

Good bit of water and other crap came out during bleeding.

Then borrowed a friend's power bleeder that had the correct cap for the ms6 reservoir and got the pedal feeling 100% normal again.

Vvt kit and AWR rmm should arrive on Wednesday ,and I'll be ordering a damond PMM next week as well as the stock pmm on this thing is about toast.
 
First aftermarket part is now on the car.

AWR 75 DURO RMM. no change in vibes that I noticed, which is nice haha. The stock mount was actually in better shape than I thought it'd be at 159k miles (maybe it was replaced at some point?)

That didnt take long...what's next?
Vvt/timing is scheduled for next weekend (22nd/23rd) as long as I don't have any delays with my work trip to KC

Otherwise, will have to save a while for Hpfp and AP.

Also have to get the ball rolling on the ms3. New 6266 needs to go on it, need to have an under route kit fabbed up for it, and still waiting on my stuff from the powder coater to be done.
 
Nice. Get that thing reliable and then get that turbo on the 3 want to see that thing at 700 plus.
 
Vvt got done on Saturday by a buddy down in cinci.

Can tell the previous owners were on that 10k OCI life (confirmed by the car fax).

OH well, car has good compression and doesn't burn a whole lot of oil, so fuck it lol.

Thing had skipped timing for sure, as the intake cam was retarded about 8*. Good thing I didn't really get on it before doing the vvt!

Anywho, car feels so much more peppy now.

You’ll be loving all the power making it to the ground man. The ms6 grips so well and I love it.
 
Forgive my ignorance... But I dont see how the vvt actuator failing causes a stretched chain or jumping teeth. Can someone explain the mechanism pls?

I wouldn't think the actuator is eccentric, but maybe it is?
 
It would be more likely that the previous owner fucked up the install of the new one and that is what caused the slip

The button and spring in the actuator had popped out and were in the timing cover. It was not a revision C actuator

You can tell the valve cover had never been taken off the car either. The VC gasket literally was rock hard and crumbled to pieces when removed from the valve cover

Sho I bet mine is the same way man. I have been waiting patiently to fix my car lol just ready to find out what is causing my issues.

Today after work, got the car on my buddies lift and swapped the oil in the trans, t-case, and rear diff with the tribodyn stuff I put in the ms3 last summer. Just like with the ms3, the car shifts immensely smoother than any other fluid I've tried and all the little weird driveline noises and vibrations are gone. I'll call that a success.

That blue gear oil pointed out a leak, after noticing a big puddle of blue goop in my driveway last night. Pivot shaft seal... Lol

Thanks to Greg for giving me a hand with replacing this, since he just replaced his last weekend, he had the punches and a few other things handy to make the job easy. Otherwise the only hang up was I Had to remove the trans mounts main bolts, and lower the trans down a bit on a jack since the mount base got in the way of some things on the ms6.
