Hey guys i was in the market for speed 6 and i found one near me for stupid cheap down fall is it need a new pcm which he already has but ive also wanted to try and switch to PI only that way i can run full E85 with out worring about Black Death with the HPFP. Has anyone used a stand alone with there speeds?

Why doesn't anyone use Megasquirt ECUs? I use an Megasquirt 3 Pro in my Miata and it works great. You can build the boards yourself for a little cheaper than buying a completed unit. All you'd really need to do is find a female plug that our ECUs use or a universal connector.

Last I checked they don't support direct injection.

I mean if you're going stand alone you might as well go port injection at the same time

Im not trying to support DI im trying delete it and go PI instead

Would you mean like piggy backing the factory ecu?

No you dont piggy back a factory ECU with a megasquirt. I'm just talking about a plug and play option for megasquirt. My Miata has a pnp ecu that only required little wiring modification. I just had to delete my AFM and wire in the GM IAT sensor through 2 of the AFM wires.

You could configure extra connectors left over from a PI conversion to other useful things such as a vacuum pump for crank case ventilation or meth/nitrous etc.

Gotcha How hard was it to setup the megasquirt?

Well for my Miata was plug and play so it was simple. Setting up one for the MS3 wouldnt be that difficult but more time consuming. I think the issue will be lack of a base map. You could probably take stock values from an AP tune then convert them over to Tunerstudio (software that Megasquirt uses)

The MS3Pro has the ability for LTFT and auto tuning fuel cells. To calibrate things like boost solenoids you'd have to use the software to command it up and down in test mode to determine the operating range. You would also have to set trigger specs for crank sensor etc.
