You and me both lol And that was a scrap piece of pipe that was bent up so the results there are worse than they should be on my actual setup.

Just found out im possibly getting laid off with our worksite shutting down soon due to the corvid 19 issue. I will have plenty of time to do it I guess!
That sucks but I guess it will be good to keep busy with something. I am work from home right now and it is hard with two kids and the wife home as well. How long does it take to make a bead with that tool?

Yeah I am waiting on my tax money and because of all this might have to reconsider spending any on my car at this point. The tool probably takes just a couple mins or even less to do the whole circumference of the 2.5” pipe. I was mostly worried about it being hard to squeeze it over and over but it honestly was very easy with the 9” crimpers. If it were smaller like 6” it would be more difficult but still doable as well.

When I used this on my pipes i only rolled 4-1 inch sections. The rolled bead is to keep it from sliding off. I have pressure tested my pipes to 50 psi with no issues. But if you want to be safe roll it all.

Does it make it easier to pull the coupler off whenever the clamp isn’t on it? If so then that would actually be beneficial as well as save time.

Well had an interesting last week or so... My old trash hauler f-150 blew a spark plug out of the head a while back and I just around to fixing it. Changed out all the coil packs and plugs and she runs like a top now!

Me fixing my truck was just in time for my 6 to have a rear caliper lock up on me and trash my rotor. I have put probably close to 45k miles on my car and haven’t had to touch my brakes so I knew it was inevitable lol
Went ahead and bought some drilled and slotted rotors today along with some ceramic pads.

It got me in the mood to buy go fast bits since I got some government moolahh, so also used my $50 vendor money (Thanks again @Raider) and purchased a few things from Damond Motorsports including a short throw shifter, a RMM, and a oil pressure sensor adapter.

Recently found a crack in my dp before my primary O2 sensor as well and am planning to pull that out and fix it in hopes to not have to buy another one. I will be pulling the titanium wrap off as that is definitely the culprit of it! I have lots of stuff planned to give my 6 some much needed love so stay tuned for the progress.

Full brake replacement, DP repair, beading my intercooler pipes, cutting my crash bar for intercooler to fit better, installing my rmm, and finally finishing hooking up my oil sensor. That’s all just the beginning to what I hope is a great productive year on my build and to prepare for my big turbo! :)

Some call me impatient, but I decided to drive about a 2 hour round trip to go get my last shipment of go fast bits lol
Was coming Monday but I want to knock out everything this weekend if possible. Getting ready to rip into these sweet drilled and slotted rotors and install them along with some much needed new ceramic pads!

What brand rotors are those?
They’re just an off brand. Figured I would give them a shot and see if they’re as good at least as the stock blanks. I will let you know how they perform when im finished. Also just some basic ceramic pads as well but hopefully they do well!

Ok so brakes are finished up guys and man are they an upgrade from the stock brakes! Here is a pic of what the full kit came with.

The quality of these seem to be very nice for not really being a big name brand brake company necessary. Here you can see the clean cuts and what not.

Overall extremely happy as of my test driving tonight and definitely looks much better than my sucky old brakes for sure! Next up will be fixing my downpipe and installing my Damond goodies I got. Stay tuned :)

Well one more task down and a million more to go!

Had a friend with an exhaust shop run it up on a lift and we got it done pretty quick. Now to find and fix all my annoying little leaks because I just built the motor so it shouldn’t have any but of course it has some and is getting on my nerves lol

Me and a friend from work are going to fix my DP dilemma tomorrow but lets just say im never wrapping an exhaust part again lol This beauty was hiding under the exhaust wrap! Not even on a weld just a bend and nearest to the turbo. Just too much heat for my ebay dp to handle with it wrapped.

I had painted it with header paint thus why it looks like crap everywhere else too. Cleaning the joint now in preparation for tomorrow when we weld it back up.

I plan to buy a nice little multi-process welder in the near future, but as for now I don’t have one other than a super cheapo welder that is a 110v rig I got in a trade a long time ago. It will get the job done for really simple stuff ( I welded a couple things on my lawn mower and that sort of thing) but need something nicer for the go fast bits.

I’ll post up the prep work and the results tomorrow sometime. Seeing the downpipe out is making me want to just be like “woops! How did that CST4 get in there, Honey!? Well dang it, now I need a tune..” lol

Def looks rough, interesting to see how you can fix it.

Yeah my friend (technically foreman even tho it’s only us two right now) is going to weld it up at his place. I don’t have the means except to borrow his stuff and he has much more experience with stainless than me so im going to let him do it haha I told him I didn’t care how it looked at this point and just to see if we could salvage it.

He says he can, so lets hope he is right. I’m preparing the joint inside and out so it should be as clean as it’s going to get for what we are doing. Running a wire wheel with a small dremel to get into all the spaces.

I decided tonight while I am awaiting my repaired downpipe’s return, that I would go ahead and “bead roll” my intercooler pipes that needed it. Turned out pretty decent and honestly took about 20-30 mins to do all of them that I did.

I would highly suggest this mod for someone who can’t afford new pipes at the time and needed some beads on there IC setup!
I’m determined to get my car running strong and have no excuses for great powahh!!

Probably going to put some stick on horsepower on the speed (as well as the downpipe tomorrow) so should be back together by tomorrow night and ready to rip again.

It seems that my ebay downpipe is almost beyond repair but it is at least much better than it was. My quest for a new one begins I guess though!

My buddy just sent me these pics of it and said he doubts if it is even hardly stainless steel basically and that the material was pretty poor quality as expected from an ebay piece anyway lol

If I get the money soon enough I will be buying a welder and will probably fab up a replica of this one just with better quality and thickness of material. Will be a good first project for the new welder.
