Anyone want to take a guess on what’s wrong? I’ll dig in to it soon and post what I find.
so here’s the story. I bought the car knowing the engine was locked up. I assumed he ran it out of oil or over heated it and just ran it until it wouldn’t go any longer. After talking to the previous owner this is what he told me. Said he was driving down the road and it started acting funny. Said he looked at the AP and the KR was jumping up and down and it kept getting higher and higher. He said it started making noise so he shut it off and called for a tow truck. Said he told the tow truck driver not to start it but the guy did anyway. He said it died while putting it on the rollback and never started again.
Just to be sure I tried to turn the engine over with a breaker bar and it wouldn’t move. So I pulled the belt to be sure it wasn’t a locked up water pump or ac compressor etc. but still no go. My first thought was it jumped time and piston was hitting a valve but I would think it would still turn one way or the other. I can’t turn it either direction.
figured I’d see who wanted to take a stab at the diagnosis and I’ll post the problem when I find it. Winter time boredom I guess. I’m going to try to pull the valve cover off this weekend and pull the plugs. Run a bore scope in to it guts and see if I can see anything. Sooooo........give me your best guess.
