A bit of an update.

Everything is hooked up and ready to go in the engine bay. I've been trying to clean up my cabling as much as possible since I've removed pretty much all of the dumb huge brackets for all of the wiring crap. The car pretty much just needs fluids and it's ready to start!

Since I'm going to be breaking it in pretty hard I want to be able to fire it up, let it warm up, and then take it out for the first 50 miles to rip on it. I'm finishing up all of the front end axle/suspension stuff, so after that's all done, I'll just need to get the rear end done and it's good to go. After that, it's hard break-in time!

The whiteline front endlinks that I was going to buy from @Enki didn't quite fit correctly. On the passenger side they actually made contact with the brake hardline, so I've ripped them out and am going to run the stockers for now. Not sure if I'll end up getting some different aftermarket ones at a later time, but everything else is coming along.

The fuel lines for my 6th port were a little too short in one place and a little too long in another, so I'm going to be running over to the shop that tweaked my TMIC tomorrow to see if they can make me some new lines so I can get that all hooked up. For the time being I'm just running the stock fuel lines without my ethanol sensor or the 6th port stuff even being hooked up until I get the right hoses. I'll need to get my basemap and everything all set up first anyways, so I'm not stressing it yet.

The car is looking a lot happier!

Front suspension is knocked out. All that's left now is rear suspension, fluids, and the hood and this baby is ready to start!

I need to figure out how I'm going to prop up my intake. It's just kind of dangling right now and I'd like to mount it in place a bit. I got rid of pretty much all of the janky wiring harness brackets, so now I don't have that nice little place to bolt it to.

My garage is in fucking shambles, but I'm glad to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel!

So it's been a while since my last update. I figured I'd fill you guys in on what's going on.

Got the car started up, but it was running very lean. Figured I had a vac leak somewhere, so I re-did all of my hoses and clamps on the CS mani. The clamps that I had weren't great, so I got a bunch of new Napa ones to replace them all. After replacing the clamps and hoses I still had a huge vac leak. Car wouldn't make more than -4psi of vacuum. Went out and finally bought a big compressor and got the boost leak tester hooked up and when I got the air blowing I could just feel air blasting out somewhere around the bottom of the manifold/throttle body area. Got the throttlebody removed and as I was pulling it all off, one of the bolts (top right) just pulled out with no resistance at all along with all of the threads. This used CS manifold has been a nightmare since I bought it, but unfortunately it's my only option since CS is backordered on them for who knows how long. I'm at a weird point in the build right now because I really want the even flow of the CS, but I just don't trust this used one at this point. I'm considering buying a ported out stocker or something since I can't just buy a new Corksport one which is my only other option because TMIC. I'm going to try to helicoil this thing to get it torqued down, but I honestly don't want to have to do that. If I get a stocker ported, I'm gonna go single runner to match my head and my gasket, which has a nice ~20% variance.

Feeling a little defeated at this point. I really don't want to use a stocker, but it's looking like it's my only alternative at this point.

I'm not sure why you have so many stock intake manifolds, but I'll definitely hit you up if I go that route lol.

Tap it, son. Or just use a locking nut on the end of the existing bolt

Like I said, I'm going to helicoil it, but other issues I've had are: brass fitting threads are shot. meth taps were real jacked, runners are shaped real weird (I'm assuming this was one of the early models), and the MAP sensor mounting location had issues and I had to tap a new hole for it. I've run into nothing but problems with this manifold and I'm just wondering how many more problems I'll have with it before I say fuck it.

Late night update boys.

I finally got the manifold tapped and the throttlebody back on properly. After getting it bolted on and doing the boost leak test, there was still a TON of air blowing out between the manifold and the head. After feeling around for a while I couldn't seem to pinpoint it, but it seemed to only be the bottom of the manifold. Talked with Chris @Speed Solutions LLC and he told me to undo the support underneath the intake manifold. After that I torqued it all back down and there's no more leaks!... from there at least. The meth bungs that were plugged up needed new plumbers tape, so I did those, and after that it finally built some pressure up, but another small leak came up between the intercooler and the coldpipe. I had previously helicoiled that as well and I didn't like how that looked, so I took it out and tapped it again to make sure it was nice and new. Had an M7 bolt that fit perfectly, but I want to put a nut on the other side because this aluminum is so soft these threads just don't want to play nice. I'll tighten that up tomorrow and hopefully I don't have any more fucking leaks.

As long as there aren't any more leaks I'm hoping that this mofo will be running a lot more normally since it can actually build some vacuum.

Hopefully I'll have a first drive video tomorrow!

IT'S ALIVE!

Got the last boost/vac leak fixed up and got the car put back together tonight. Got the car started up and it was acting real fucking weird. Gas pedal wasn't working either. My dumbass forgot to plug the throttlebody back in after fucking with all of that. After plugging it back in the car fired up and ran like a champ. Took it out and rang it's neck a little bit. Even on spring pressure it feels fast, but that's probably just because I've been driving the beater Sentra around for 8 months lol. I'm going to get this tune dialed in and then I'll add the 6th port into the mix. It's gonna be a fun weekend!

Got a few of my fuel lines redone today since one was a little too short and one was a little too long. Got my ethanol sensor all hooked up and took the car for a test drive. Connected my phone to it via bluetooth and I honestly think this is the best option as far as simplicity is concerned. 15amp add a fuse in the TCM fuse (for automatic 3s) with a little 5amp fuse for the sensor itself and ground it wherever. Interface is nice and clean and since ethanol content doesn't really need to be monitored in realtime, this is a perfect fit for me.

I'll try to get the app loaded up on the Eonon and see how that works. I've had it off the whole time I've been driving since I've been enjoying the noise of a not shitty Sentra. I'm going to get the split second controller wired up this weekend hopefully. On my base map and I'm already running out of injectors. Hit 105 IDC on one of my pulls last night. I also have an issue with preload on my wastegate I think. I'm getting up to 20psi with no WDC, so something is up (15lb spring). I don't think I'm outflowing the internal gate on this EFR since they're pretty beefy, but time will tell.

Cruised around all weekend in the speed. Car's running real good, but I definitely need to get the split second wired up. I'll be doing that today after work hopefully.

I was wrapping up the rear suspension last night and while I was doing the spring/shock on the drivers side I found not one, but two nails in the tire... One right in the center and one right near the sidewall. Took it to Discount and they pulled out the nails and it looks like they didn't puncture through. They said to keep an eye on them, but puncturing the cords and doing a patch inside would be worse in their eyes and I guess I can see why. We'll see how they hold up.

Even with these fucking Eibach springs that are supposed to be a very small drop it seems like the car is WAY lower. I have noticed a little scraping when I'm leaving the house, so I'll just need to keep an eye on that for now. I have the CS skidplate, so that'll be going back on later after oil change hell is over with.

I scraped the shit out of my front lip after putting on my KWs. I had to raise the height pretty much to the max it allows just to not bottom out every damn time I hit a speed bump or go up a ramp.

I don't wanna live that life. I've just got the Koni Yellow + Eibach spring combo which I thought would be not much of a difference at all from the ride height perspective. I'm just really worried about banging up my oil pan right now since that's the lowest damn thing on the car currently.

The oil pan is between the wheels. You will NEVER “bottom out” on the oil pan. The only thing to even be concerned with is riding over objects in the road, which assuming you have eyes shouldn’t happen lol

I hope you're right buddy. I heard a pretty gnarly scrape leaving my house for the first drive, but the oil pan that I got back on my motor was painted and already had some scuffs on it, so I'm not sure if there were any new marks on it. I've been keeping an eye on everything since I've been changing the oil so much, so I'll just keep watching it. Scraping anywhere on the front just sounds bad, so I'm hoping to not have to deal with that shit much.

I've been keeping an eye on everything since I've been changing the oil so much, so I'll just keep watching it. Scraping anywhere on the front just sounds bad, so I'm hoping to not have to deal with that shit much.

Just don’t angle it too much or you can scrape just about anything under there. Once you get the front lip clear, just straighten it out as much as possible and the important bits will lift up with the wheels.
