Tired of my car already...

Last year I seriously debated selling my Speed3 for a more comfortable daily driver. I ended up keeping it by modifying my commute.
  • I elected to limit the number of "stop and go" instances on my commute, even if it meant paying a little more for tolls. This meant that I tried to stay on the highway as much as I could (unless there is a serious traffic jam). Staying on the highway also meant that the ride is a lot more comfortable.
  • When running into heavy traffic on the highway, I would simply increase my distance to the car in front of me.
  • The problem then were other drivers who would change lanes in front of me because of the gap I am leaving. This was solved by going to work early. Since I wasn't ever running late anymore, I didn't get annoyed by other drivers cutting into my lane. And the beauty of it is, I can cruise and drive like a grandma if I want to, or I can also drive aggressively and pass everyone, if I want to. One of the most satisfying things for me, is passing drivers on a high speed ramp, who all passed me when we were just driving in a straight line.
As other's have already mentioned, the Speed3 is a very versatile car. I bought it because it was the "bang for the buck" choice back in 2013. I drive it all year round. (Since we don't get harsh winters, I get by with all-season tires.) I am close to 100K miles on it now and I can't really say that I'm tired of it. In fact, I always look forward to driving it after having driven the wife's CX-5.
It's still a good bang for the buck hp and torque wise, even today. Mazdas new turbo cx is still less hp, crazy! Got a low tire and didn't have time to mess with it today so its temporarily parked.
