1986 Chevy K5 Silverado. Fully loaded.

Bought this truck from my cousin, who bought it from my other cousin, who bought it from my other cousin, who bought it from my uncle, who bought it from my dad, who bought it new. Needless to say it's been though hell and back. But now I have it and intend on making this truck turn heads, as it used to back in its day. I mean after all, this was my first truck. Lots of memories in it.

This is what it used to look like:

Let the fun begin...

Odometer Reads: 70,000 miles and has rolled over twice. So 270,000 miles on the chassis and still has original engine. Never been rebuilt.

So when I first got the truck the first thing that I noticed is that the exhaust smelled horrible and the truck go really bad gas mileage and was Hard starting. So being that it's the 20th century I decided to install a Wideband 02 sensor with a narrow band analog output that my computer can read, which was the LC-2 http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc2.php

After installation of the sensor I quickly learned why the rig was running like a turd. The old o2 sensor was completely wore out, clearly was not sending the right signals to the ECU.

Here is the LC-2 in action. Amazing that a carbureted truck in the 80's can keep almost perfect afrs during closed loop.

What irritates me, is that I just smogged it last year. normally you have to smog a vehicle every two years. Kinda pisses me off that somewhere down the road if failed smog so many times that it put a black mark on its record. Maybe has been identified "Gross Polluter?" I need to ask The Department of motor vehicles what's up.

On a side note, my license expires in a few months. Time to update my picture and see if I can pass the written and eye tests.

You guys ever heard a Rochester Quadrajet Moan? So bad ass!

I have a holley rebuilt rochester quadrajet on my cutlass. Supposedly its a 1000 cfm so a little more noise than your "moan". Your k5 has probably had the carb rebuilt or replaced at some point. The rochester works great but they wear out and start to run like shit pretty quickly. Anyone who had a hard starting gm and hates carbs as a result likely had a trashed rochester

When i rebuilt my 67 mustang's 289 (this was in HS), i upgraded from a 2bbl to a 4bbl, upgraded the cam, and put an open air filter...damn, that sound used to give me a chubby

The Truck is still running well currently using it as a hunting and fishing mobile as I am limited in those areas with my speed.
Ironically this is the second car I have boughten off of Littleloogy only can say the best!
Looking to buy a third vehicle off him haha!
