I ordered a sample collectiom kit from Blackstone moments before you posted that.
You also arent the first person I've heard be skeptical. I saw someomes bearings. Main and rods were like deeply pitted, it was weird. Blackstone never caught a hike. Maybe it happened fast but seems odd all the bearings would pit that badly over 3k miles after the last sample.
I also asked myself what would I do if thr sample came back good? Id feel good. But the motor could still bend a rod or spin a bearing tomorrow. What if it came back bad? Well that sucks but still probably wouldn't sell the car based on it.
So I probably won't end up testing it

Nothing but good experiences with Blackstone. In my old car plumbed in some copper for a gauge and BSL picked up elevated copper in UOA. Elevated levels returned to normal next UOA. Dropped the oil pan in my MS3 and next UOA picked up the silicone elevation, again next UOA, silicone lowered. So to say that they just don’t test the oil is insane. I rely on UOA as more of a snapshot of engine health. Not necessarily a predictor of future wear.
As for @Easter Bunny; experience, it seems more of an outlier than anything else. Definitely a shitty thing to go through and frustrating. Hopefully, you got a refund.

so what would you guys do if a sample came back with an increase in copper and lead, iron, or aluminum, but compression was fine, no oil useage, no knocks/vibrations, etc. Aside from that report, you thought your engine was healthy. Would you pull the engine and tear it down based on the readings? test again in 3k miles, then tear it down?
Seems like one test isn't going to reliably tell me much I'd need to keep testing the oil each change to track trends.

Personally no. My main focus of UOA’s is for extending oil change intervals. I have had increases in metal wear, as long as they aren’t crazy high wear levels I wouldn’t do anything about it. Especially, if not experiencing any other symptoms. Maybe folks with a built engine or BT would feel otherwise, but I have neither. The UOA I posted revealed a slight increase in wear and BSL suggested either keep 9k change intervals with less track days or keep track days the same and decrease interval. I’m fine with that.
When I had an increase in metals turn up in a test I was doing a lot of track days. Car was spending a lot of time up in the rpms. Another driver suggested going up a gear at the track to both reduce wear and go faster, duh. So I spent more time in fourth gear as opposed to ringing it out in 3rd. Next UAO showed a decrease in metal wear.
