Weird odor after upgrading parts

Upgraded downpipe to straight pipe, upgraded stock turbo to cst4, egr delete. Once I completed the upgrade and did the necessary priming and stuff, started the car and it has the weird odor I never smelt before. Has anyone come across strange odor coming from the car after doing any of those mods? Driven the car about 500 miles and that weird odor is still there.
 
Can you describe the odor you are experiencing? Weird can be a lot of things.

Could be the scent of manufacturing lubricants and anti corrosion oil for shipping and storage. Smells like hot or burning oils
Also metal can smell when it first starts getting heat cycled for a while. Smells...well...like hot metal
If you have an odor @ tailpipe end/rear of the car (or when parked/idling) it could be because you went catless. Smells like a cat box(pun)
Also check the EGR delete and make sure its sealed/installed properly.

It almost smells like hot metal. At first I thought maybe it was anti seize lubricant, but I don't remember it smelling like that when I worked on other cars where the lubricant was exposed to the heat. The smell definitely is coming from the exhaust as when i go sniffing around the engine, the smell isn't there. The other thing I notice is when I accelerate and white smoke comes out and the smells worsen.
 
When I rebuilt me engine and used another turbo (remanufactured) there was some light smoke and odor for a little while. Not sure if that helps. I’m assuming it was grease or oil on the turbo.

Thanks for your input. I guess I'll ride it out for a while to see if the odor goes away.
 
is the smell perhaps the sweet perfume of a catless exhaust? the removal of catalytic converters will change the way your exhaust smells. but that's more of a sulfur smell.
