What did you do to your ride today

Im in the middle of porting a stock manifold for VTCS delete. For the time and effort just do a ST manifold. The ST has better flow than a ported stock one anyways. Im at the point of finishing this ported one, installing it, seeing how it does to make sure there are no issues then reselling it and going ST because thats how tedious it is porting a manifold.
Agreed! I want to see more CD intake manifolds out there for the tmic gang ;)

It's the ol 'give a mouse a cookie' scenario....if I go ST mani, I need a FMIC...if I go FMIC, I'll need a Bayson R Grill to let it breathe...if I buy a Bayson R grill, I'll of course need to buy more body kit pieces to put the look all together...lol

Then again, that's what I love about cars anyway so...¯\_(?)_/¯

you don't need a Bryson grille with Fmic, where the hell did you get that ridiculous information/ ideas

Ok easy..pesy chill start the newish 24 days old Hellbor freight 20T press...bearing starts nice a little handle stroke, small pops for bearing seating ... continue excellent this is easy....yes of course the hydraulic jack blows...fuild check yes..
Bitch seal blown .. so now wrestling with...shocker...harbor freight on car wheel bearing kit ..bought for bearing press pucks .. gotta get replacement jack before second hub replacement. Should have known...my name is Jack:)PXL_20210726_154323283.jpg PXL_20210726_175230243.jpg PXL_20210726_175220317.jpg

20T press broke on you? Man that sucks, warranty I hope

Yes...no option to order replacement ram. They would pull from a in box stock. But very low stock in stores..unless I drive 2-3 hours. So awaiting restock. But 1982 small bottle jack (my first one!) did the job nicely.

Got around to installing wheel bearings. I was getting an audible clunk and click going over small bumps in the road. CV axles are next. Invest in quality snap ring pliers too. ToolBearing.jpg

Serviced the Xcell VTA BOV today... while I was in there took a look at the inter cooler piping, and found the both the inlet and outlet pipes to be starting their walk off the top mount. Sorted that shit out fast.
Boost coming on much better now... here I was thinking the hot weather had killed some boost.

Got around to installing my motor but now have a fuel issue. Hpfp pressure reads 0 on the accessport.
Gonna dig in today and try to find out why.

Probably ground by hpfp or the pmm ground pretty classic, also ensure connector on hpfp is snug. There's also a ground on the transmission that should be snug. Basically: when in doubt check grounds

Grounds are good.

12v to pump I can hear it come on and stay constant (320lph aem in tank), but hardly pumps gas coming directly off the top hat. Pulled pump and filter looked really dirty/clogged. Bench tested pump and it's fine, thinking it's the filter. Have to wait until tomorrow for my wife to order one (she works at a Mazda dealership), then gonna go from there.

That pesky OEM filter could certainly do it. Good luck

Saturday I went and did some work on the Miata. Put a new antenna on it since my powered retractable stopped working. Installed a hard plastic trunk guard on the left side so if something rolls it won't damage the quarter panel.

Also went to install my GT2860 turbo but it turns out the wastegate flap on my 5 bolt housing was too small for the hole on the new CHRA. I shined a flashlight in there and could see faint light with it closed.

I installed a new coolant reroute housing as well since the new turbo would be water cooled however I ended up having to plug the two new ports on the housing until I can properly install the larger turbo.

Last thing I did was get 3/8 aluminum tubing and cut/flare it to run a cleaner crankcases intake setup. I currently run just one catch can from manifold to valve cover then the fresh air port to turbine inlet pipe.

Coming soon with the new turbo is 900cc to injectors, 6 speed trans and 3.63 diff with subframe that has upgraded bushings, MR2 hubs and a few other things. I probably should start to focus on the Speed once I get this stuff in.

Wasn't the problem.

Pump out of tank flows fine. Pump in tank, even with 12v and new filter, doesn't flow. I can hear it spinning, and constantly on, but still no flow. Should I look at the regulator?

Not sure this is more than my knowledge on the fueling system, I'd create a troubleshooting thread for it and hopefully some more experienced folks chime in

I am currently working through making an OEM style basket again as I am going CS fuel cell for PI. Here is what I have found.

These guys https://www.highflowfuel.com/ sell our filter for cheap "3 - pack 20$" a TON of cars use our same exact basket but with different top hats. "CHECK HERE" They also sell an OEM pump replacement that comes with a filter. "HERE"

I also recently needed to find a in basket / in tank pressure regulator and bought this. Standard Intermotor Fuel Injection Pressure Regulator - Part # PR344 Line: STI Pretty sure this is the OEM who makes the valves for these cars but either way it should work great. I had looked at Mazda and they were a little cheaper but also the wait time on the part was forever. I will be installing and testing it in the next few weeks. Seems like a ton of other cars have this same setup.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the filter from the dealer and it was in the next day.
The car starts now, but won't stay running unless I hit the gas.
Multiple codes
Maf high voltage
IAT high voltage
Fuel pressure sensor circuit low voltage
No communication with ABS module
Instrument cluster not receiving or transmitting on the can bus
More work ahead
