What did you do to your ride today

Radiator finally tapped out. Started leaking out the driver side end tank. Ended up removing the bumper to gain better access and did the water pump too. Fully burped and no more leaks. Bit of an ass pain but doable on the ground. 1000002383.jpg 1000002387.jpg 1000002386.jpg 1000002384.jpg

Wheel stud snapped awhile back and I got that out of the way. Apparently O'Reilly's replacements on hand has a thinner knurl shouldered stud that wouldn't fit in the hub. Had to google about and found the proper sized one. 1000002282.jpg

Had new OEM front and rear shocks installed along with the mountings and rubber bits for the front ones, also replaced the front sway bar bushings and tie rod ends (closest to the wheels). Took car in for a wheel alignment and an quite amazed by how much of a difference it all made. Ride is still firm but not jarring as before, also all the rattles and suspension noises are gone.

Had some cheap Monroe shocks on .... Big mistake.
Apart from raising the vehicle a bit they were much too hard. I think our cars normally run with a softer shock and a harder spring whereas the other models in this range are fitted with harder shocks and softer springs, so I basically had hard springs and hard shocks. It was crazy hard.

Not today but over the weekend drive it 360 miles round trip to the beach. Pretty happy it went smoothly since the car has only moved about 400 miles in the past three years
