I chose Stratified because I found that Lex always had some very good info to share in the forums. I also liked the idea of consistent performance all year round that a load based tune offers. Everyone in DFW had Freektune and forum chatter seemed to indicate he was getting overloaded with providing tunes for a lot of people, so I thought I'd try a different tuner for a change. Lastly, a flash tune was bundled with the purchase of the Cobb AP from Stratified.Yeah, it's the difference between a tune that's geared toward your car in a safe/performance-oriented sense vs. a tune that is precisely calibrated and revised for you numerous times.
I'm curious: why Stratified? Virtually all of us locals went FREEKTUNE. Alex and the folks from Stratified are top-notch too, but they also only load-based tune. This means that you won't get as much of a performance boost (usually) during the cold months as you would from a boost-based or hybrid tune. Personally, I like hybrid the best. That's what I always did when I self-tuned for years. But then again, load-based tunes are supposed to feel smoother I've been told. Then again, a lot of that may have to do with throttle translation tables too.
