10" Ported Box Build

That looks good. Is the box heavy enough to not slide around? When I had 2 10"s the box was light and it slid around the trunk. With 3 10"s it was heavy enough to stay in place.

I'm going to guess the sub and box weigh somewhere around 80-90 lbs.

Sub alone is 40 lbs.

I do plan on coming up with some type of mounting solution

As a cheap stay putter, A little mild Velcro on the bottom did wonders for my 60-70 ish sealed setup. Just keeps it from sliding.

Where'd you get the surround adapter plate? It looks like it fits/has better fit/finish than the one I got. I wonder if it'd work on my Kenwood DDX4711HD?

Oh, and BTW, any pics of your Big 3 runs too? I was contemplating that, but not sure which mounting points. to use. I have a great hook-up on highly flexible, marine-grade wiring at great prices. I figure it'll be more than sufficient for the job.

The surround trim came with the dash kit, if I remember correctly it's a metra kit

Edit: yeah it's a metra dash kit

So the single 10" sub is not enough for a bass head like me, time to start a new build and add a battery...

Building a 3 cu ft box for this beast:

Agreed. If you're going to go single in a Speed, at least have a 12"

The sub that's going in the speed now is a 15" Fi SSD that has been sitting in my garage for 2 years... used to be in the wife's Lexus before we got rid of it and bought the MDX

Looking at XS batteries to add and figure out where I'm going to put it since the box will fill the entire hatch

I have always had a love for W7s but they are too damn expensive for what they are

Get what you pay for, I suppose. They really are top-notch, esp. regarding SQ (FWIH, no pun intended). You can probably find them on sale, just like us car enthusiasts have sales...

I used to sell/install car audio in my college days i only run JL audio back then but then again I used to get 40% off which made it easier on the pocket... I have always loved JL but have been trying different stuff over the years

You quoted before my ninja edit, haha. Not-so-ninja, I guess...

So I ended up ordering a 280 amp Iraggi ho alternator with the payment plan option they have available, and currently designing a system around my 15" Fi Q

Going to try and compete next year in the Meca street class 751-2000 watt
