I was informed that the guy who rebuilt my HPFP for me didn't torque down the seal screw..... It was just hand-tightened. So I'm gonna pull that off today or tomorrow, torque it down and see what happens.
 
Update time! This past Saturday @StreetSpeed6 swung through and we worked on the car.

Gave it a fresh oil change. Took the HPFP off. Seal screw was 100% not torqued down. Was so loose we were able to unscrew it by hand. Fixed that. Tcase drain needed tightened down a smidge. Oil Feed line needed tightened down. Basically all the problems we were having (short of the crack in the transmission) were down to random things not being tightened down (more on that in a sec)

After fixing all the things. We got pressure!

After that we took it for a drive.



This is actually the second drive. The first drive is when we found out that one of the couplers on the IC piping were actually 95% on one pipe, 3% air gap and 2% on the other pipe (on the hot side) and the moment I hit 1.7lbs of boost it popped off. So we fixed that. Took it for a light lap outside the neighborhood (the linked video) and it was awesome to be driving it again. Still need to do a good amount of cleanup work. Still might relocate the catch cans (again) and definitely need to put all the guards and bumper back on so I can start doing logs properly.

Been a long road. Still a good ways to go, but we're finally mobile people! Big thanks to @phate @StreetSpeed6 @Matt@DM and multiple other friends who've come through to help get this thing driving again after these past few years. I'll keep updating as we make more progress. Think I'll finally start putting content on Youtube about the car now that I can get it out of the garage.

Glad I could help! It was a great time and you and your wife are great people! Hopefully next time I will drive my speed 6 down and we can take them out for a rip together and catch up more. Maybe you'll be the first car on my 2 post lift down here in my neck of the woods to get that trans case welded up ;)

Hell yeah dude.

Side note. I took a look at the car yesterday and saw some fluid on the ground under the passenger side catch can hoses and to the left and right of the transmission leak. Looks like it might come from the clutch slave on the left, the catch can on the right (driver side) or the power steering line. Clear fluid so I can't really tell and pretty much everything points to nothing. #MS6things. Bright note, it's not a lot of fluid. Brake reservoir looks good, PS reservoir looks good, so I'm not too worried about it, currently. But definitely something to look into further. At least it's not 1000000 degrees currently.
 
Alright, another day another update.

New DTA Axle lasted exactly 9 miles. Blew out the boot, so I'll be replacing that this week. Hunting down an oil leak on the back passenger side of the car. Relocated the catch can on the driver side and shifted the catch can on the passenger side so they are in a better location now.

Test fit my hood just for laughs. Definitely not fitting with the intercooler pipe behind the passenger headlight. So I gotta figure that out. Until then, I'll be part of the no-hood club.

Need to fix whatever is causing my leak because I have a dyno scheduled at Damond next month. So here's hoping!

Should be able to just cut that off and put a new one on if you didn't do too many miles.

Didn't realize you could put those on, it's a DTA axle and it had that spring where it belonged when I put it on the car. Car's gone less than 9 miles with that axle.
 
I'll add it to the list of to-dos for this weekend and see if I get ANY of it accomplished. Dyno day is scheduled for Oct 18th, so I guess I can just use the impending doom of an upcoming deadline to motivate me.
 
Some cars you can actually get replacement boots all by themselves. I would contact dta to get the part

Also looks like I might be leaking oil from the timing cover at the bottom. So that sucks. It's super minor but it's definitely there. I'll probably have damond take a look when I go up there this month.
 
Alright, after discussing with my tuner, we decided to move the dyno date until I get a couple hundred miles on the block. (Haven't driven it a whole lot due to random issues popping up and general procrastination). So update time.

Installed the exhaust. Amazing how life is much better without an open downpipe directly underneath the driver. Left side muffler tip is a bit out of alignment, but I'll deal with that later. Sounds much better, in my opinion, and will probably piss off my neighbors approximately 30% less. Halloween came and we left the garage door open during the candy handout and a surprising thing happened. About 40 people in my neighborhood knew the car (not surprising) and came up to talk about it, take pictures, and asked general things about how it's coming along. Made the day so much cooler. God I love this bastard car.

Drove it a couple miles yesterday and noticed some general clunky noises. Thought it might be the exhaust banging around in the tunnel, also thought it might be transmission or something in the suspension. Got it home and looked around the bay. Everything looked fine, couldn't move anything out of the ordinary and that's when I noticed my engine mounts' tick marks didn't line up anymore.

So I'm "thinking" that was probably the issue. Haven't checked the RMM, but I'm assuming it's loose too. Gonna retorque and tap everything tomorrow. Gotta make a run up to the Mazda dealership later to pick up the new floor mats. Here's hoping it's smooth sailing from here.
 
Starting to look like a car again!

Clunky noises were caused by upper and lower control arms not being torqued down. Mounts were fine (old paint marks). Cleaned up the old tick marks, made new ones, torqued down control arms, re-ran some wiring, fixed a grounding issue for the lights, all the lights installed, reinstalled front bumper (no one said we'd have to snap off some of the front bumper pieces to fit around the IC piping). Pulled the Honda washer reservoir since it fought with my wiring harness (gonna buy a smaller one and make something happen). Adjusted the intake so it wasn't sitting on my shifter cables. Took it for a spin and aside from all the new vibrations, it drives fantastic. Shifts clean, holds boost, handles well, steering is nice and tight (although I'm in a laughable need of an alignment). Bought some new tie rods, so we'll be installing those sometime soon and then I'll get the alignment sorted.

Still no hood, currently. 4th gear WOT pull was impressive for it not being tuned yet. Hit just shy of 20psi during the pull.

Starting to look and feel like a car again! I'm going to see about getting another radiator grille piece so I can test dremeling out all the mesh holes where the FMIC is. Tedious work, but I think it'll look good.

I need new fog lamp brackets. The old fog lamps are rust-seized to the bracket plastic and the plastic is pretty brittle. Once I get those, I can install my new Morimoto fog lamps.

I just used a drill bit that matched the diameter of the circles.. Drilled out the holes and used a file to smooth it out. Worked like a charm.

I had a spare to sacrifice to the drilling test gods, I used a drill bit to punch a few holes in the spots and will file it out. Still tedious work, lol.
