Hey folks,
I have a 2012 Speed3 that I picked up as a CPO. Bought at 33k, now at 52k. Recently the clutch has been grabbing all the way at the end of the pedal, and I recently had it bled, and that didn't do anything. I'm guessing the clutch is starting to go, if that is the case. I have no problem with stock pedal feel, but I'm also ~130lbs and short (5'3, I sit close!), so I can't go much heavier on pedal effort. I have an NYC commute, so I deal with a lot of silly drivers, and stop and go traffic.
I have read the recent posts and threads, and I was leaning towards a SB S2 Daily, but the most recent thread suggested an ACT clutch, as the SBs are heavy. Not sure if @Raider can attest to this, as I saw a post about putting in a Luk combo into his. I've heard mixed reviews over Spec clutches (one guy was even struggling to find gears!), and further mixed reviews over SB clutch effort.....
I don't mind a clutch that grabs quickly. I DO mind a binary clutch (whatever clutch is in this thing bangs in even when I release it REALLY slowly). Longevity is the real priority, though. Since I DD my speed3, it is stock, but maybe i'll throw some inspection-friendly CS mods in it later. I appreciate any advice, since I really feel like that clutch is going to let go at any minute...
