Building for the road course...again

@L337TurboZ

looks like I’m picking up the Tahoe on Monday. I’ll need to figure out what HP tuners shit I need to turn off that cylinder deactivation stuff

You'll just need to buy an MPVI3 device and a few credits. You might need 2 or 3 credits to unlock everything on the Tahoe. The minimum is 2 but sometimes you also have to unlock the Fuel Pump Control Module/Chassis Control Module.

The software VCM Editor is free and so is VCI Scanner. Make sure that after doing an initial read on the system in VCM Editor you make a save file such as 2012TahoeBase which is what I do.

Any subsequent alterations I make I'll write the file name as 2012Tahoe (IAT, AFR, Spark) etc so if I have to go back a step it's easier than 2012Tahoe 1 2 or 3.

Also download software called Blue Cat Transmission or BC Trans as it might be called. You can eliminate the possibility of Torque Converter Shudder and use the tables it generates to improve the shift quality and shift points in the 6L80 Transmission.

Ok sounds good. I’m going to be meeting the guy in a couple hours here to finish the deal and drive it home. I’ll have to look up all the HP tuners stuff you mentioned tonight

It’s clean for an Ontario car. There’s a little bubbling in a few spots but minor compared to everything else I saw. More importantly underneath is cleannnnn. Gotta get this thing oil sprayed.

its a lot different than driving my little corolla around that’s for sure lol

It does look very police lol. I’m one of those people I hated now. With the cop steelies it would definitely look like an undercover

Im looking at OBD2 modules to disable the AFM stuff. There are cheap ones and expensive ones. There is one with great reviews however and its only $70. Might give that a shot.

I looked at HP tuners but the dongle is 550cad with no credits. Credits are like 75$ each lol so that adds up way too much way to quickly.

First order of business is new fluids all around. Some good engine oil, transfer case, front diff and rear diff. Gonna do all of that. check the air filter, cabin filter, maybe throw a set of spark plugs at it. Maybe put a bottle or two of injector cleaner through it.

After that just enjoy? I want to change out the headunit asap as the 2012 system is dated. It does work really well but its just old lol.

Those are my only real plans. Eventually ill install my subwoofer in there and some components and my amplifiers. Thatll be about it

In other news I just got a random email from UPS.

Wiseco has sent me something. No one replied to my last email so I’m not sure what to expect. If it’s pistons there better be some better wrist pins in there

They sent me an invoice which was obviously paid for by them.

The wrist pin upgrade is $171. Yes they’re heavy as fuck but I’d still have my engine. Wild.
