Ok so I’ll try to make this one simple
issue is that the system does not seem to regulate heat into cabin as most cars with an auto function seem to (IMO).
Example: (engine at operating temperatures)
• outside temp will be cold, cold is a matter of opinion but for this let’s say below 60 f.
• control set to auto at 74 f
• temperature of air produced is still fairly cold, not freezing but cold. I have to turn the dial to 77f minimum to feel any difference in temperature from the vents.
I don’t think it’s a vent issue because all the zones function as expected. I’m acknowledging that a louvre for the heat exchanger may not be operating correctly but I’m not sure since once I request anything above 77 it seems to work.
Possibly a blending valve in the engine bay? Not sure what component this system has, so my nomenclature is probably off.
I replaced the thermostat a year ago after noticing my engine temps were always like 170 even in the summer. As soon as I did that my temperature went to a more normal 204 depending on outside temp. I have seen the post about OEM thermostats and I’m sure the one I put in there is not, so I’ll probably do that again for a warm and fuzzy.
anyway maybe it works the way it’s supposed to, I just don’t remember auto systems in cars blowing cold air if I requested like 72f while it’s 45f outside. My wife’s odyssey functions more like what I think it should.
Dealer said they don’t have enough knowledge on this system to really diagnose. Can’t blame them for not knowing and being honest, didn’t charge me for the diagnostic that took a few days. So props to them.
any ideas
