At this point a modified gen 1 basket is cheaper than going fuel cell to correct a miniscule problem. The journey continues. I'll see if i can find a used gen 1 basket somewhere.I'm pretty sure he's looking into non basket replacements. You know, less expensive options.
Yeah and the level sender itself is discontinued. So gen 1 owners will have a hard time finding a replacement
I did some looking at part numbers for fuel pump assembly, I have found 3 different ones for the gen 1 speed3, two of which appear to come with the sensor the other not.And I'm dead. Ordered a brand new OEM fuel pump basket for an 09 gen 1. Opened the box and found the fuel level sensor/sender wasn't included. Guess I'll have to return this and find a used basket assembly lol

I don't even know what those style terminals are called lolIf you can find those style terminals somewhere else, maybe you can set up a small side business of selling the reworked level senders that use non-corroding connectors.
So glad I just found this thread. I was about to put a full replacement bucket into my gen 2 from a junkyard mz3, but I see I'll run into the same issue again I'll try the soldering method as well. I'm very curious to see what my current bucket looks like. Will post pix as soon as I can.
Can you get me more images from many angles? I'll try searching with some cut down images or somethingI don't even know what those style terminals are called lol
