How many miles on your MS3

Well mine's not anything crazy. 3rd owner, 2012, bought last year at 80k miles, now at 95k. Daily driver (even in winter, which sucks), been to a few autox and should be 5 track days this summer. Original turbo, only mods being the SRI and TIP that were on the car when I bought it, and the HPFP I added. I'm also getting it e-tuned soon for just a bit more power. Thankfully I haven't noticed any real oil consumption

I think it was around that mileage when my car started using a bit of oil. We're only talking about 1/2 to 3/4 quarts between oil changes...so nothing major.

Compression and leakdown are fine on my car too.

I'm in the middle of a 2,400 mile camping road trip with it too.

3. Original Motor
4. Daily driven

Bought it last month. An older man bought it new and NEVER drove it. Traded it in to my local dealer because he couldn't push the clutch pedal in any more. A good friend is a salesman at the dealer and he sent me pictures immediately when they got it. I got pretty lucky
Wow! I would say you got really lucky! What colour did you get it in?

2) 130,000 miles purchased at 99,862.8 (only remember the exact because it barely passed for the loan lol)
3) Just rebuilt the motor and installed it about 3 weeks ago. still working out the kinks to pass inspection. Right now can't get the power steering to work (fuse is fine and wiring is fine, I think the pump is shot somehow)
4)it is still my daily but I plan on getting a small truck soon for daily
Bonus) I've always been into modding cars since I got my first car, 94 Celica GT. Still have the injen Sri from the Celica lol.

1) 2013
2) 48,000 (purchased with 47,000mi)
3) Original motor
4) Daily drive

Bonus) Bought it with salvage title, resurrected it and I will continue to buy/install parts once found.

Why did you end up having to rebuild the engine?

Got lucky on the engine replacement and it came with some upgrades. Been strong and solid for a year now.

2) 254,000 American miles!!!!
3) OG motor; 3rd owner (I picked it up with 210,000 miles)
4) Driving her everyday to work when the pandemic permits

Bonus question: I’m modding my beauty, April, for a lil mo powa babeh. I enjoy the thrill of the ride this sweet gal gives me and want more. When I blow it up I fully intend to replace with a built motor.

Weekend car is the plan but who knows

New to the platform but I am old school and had the Grand National and then the Typhoon (might be to young to remember those?) Always had fast stuff and restore Vintage Motorcycles to keep me out of trouble. Car was rough but did have a new clutch I am told. Bone stock but more permatex on the motor than I have in my garage. (oil pan, etc) I think I smoked the turbo so I ordered a maxspeedrod Wig Wang turbo, CAI with intake pipe, test pipe, plugs, fluids and signed up for Versatune and will start doing datalogging if I can figure out how. Almost 60 yo so let it be known, you are never to old to do the fun things in life! GG in TN

Age is just a number man! Hope you enjoy the car, it's damn fun! Also, did you get high pressure fuel pump internals? Don't see that in the list of mods you purchased. If not, please do so or else all the money you just spend is at high risk.

Yes, autotech internal. used and I dont have the install tool, do I really need it? Ordered a few sets of plugs. also ended up with 2 china turbos Henyee and Maxspeed and the Henyee was a much better turbo with no shaft play where the Maxspeedrod had play in everyway! I am still deciding if I want to get a downpipe (catless) and send back my test pipe when I do the turbo since I am there anyways. Any input? weekend car, no inspections in these hills of Tn!

Wow, there are a lot of replies to this thread! Some of you have really high mileage still on the original motor. That is awesome to see!

@VintageBikesUSA, I would do the downpipe at the same time as the turbo install since you'll be in there anyways...no sense doing it twice. I'm still on the stock K04, so I just have a test pipe.

I would strongly reconsider going catless though...from what I understand the car gets annoyingly drony without a cat of some type. Or you could add in a resonator like a lot of other guys do. You will also see reports of boost creep with some of the better known turbos (CST4), I'm not sure about the eBay turbos you're looking at. Having a catted downpipe can also help with that issue.

Just food for thought.

2) 101k, I bought the car with 64k. Had it for a little over three years now.
3) Original motor. Intake, hpfp, and catless downpipe are the only significant mods. I have been tuned by FreekTune for about 20k miles.
I had to replace the clutch and flywheel at 99k. That hurt a little bit.
4) I mostly work from home, but I do daily it.

3) Original motor for now (~200psi compression in each cylinder)
(FBO - Catless CPe downpipe, HPFP, mazdaspeed long ram intake, ETS TMIC)
4) I daily drive the car and even have taken it on several road trips

The main driver for modding my car was to have a fun Autocross/Backroad monster, I absolutely love grip driving, and I live near the tail of the dragon so every single mod I do to the car, I test it there. Plus being a professional mechanic for a living, I LOVE how simple the platform is to work on!

I don't currently own an MS3 (but I am looking for one! Hopefully I can re-join the club), but I had a 2007 GT that I brought to 133k miles without any major issues. Drove it a ton - a bunch of road trips too, including a Bay Area - Las Vegas - Tahoe - Bay Area trip which was a blast in this car.

Original engine, turbo was replaced under warranty by first owner (I bought it at 61k), and I took pretty good (oil changes every 5k with full synthetic) but not great (I was in college and not as experienced with cars as I am now) care of it. I had a CAI, RMM, short shifter, and Stage 1 Cobb tune and it was dead reliable until I sold it (stupidly). Hoping to get back into one and to take even better care of it. I miss that car so much.

3) Rebuilt motor, zero miles on it. Hopefully I start putting some new miles on it tomorrow!
4) My girlfriend and I daily drive our Dodge Nitro, and now that the rebuild feels like a racecar it's probably gonna stay that way hahaha.

Bonus question: What was your main driver for modifying your car? (Autocross, Track Days, doing pulls in "Mexico", or just a general interest in all things mechanical and a fun/expensive hobby?)

Haven't modified it a ton, but the main reason was necessity. I was burning a TON of oil and the rings were toast with very shiny cylinder walls. Plus I had never done a full rebuild before so it was a fun project while I earn my degree in Aerospace Engineering at University of Arizona!

3) I can only assume original motor, although I am the 3rd owner.
4) Daily Driven

My main drive for modifying my car is to have a decently quick daily driver that still can rip on any backroads.
