Re-mounted my PS cooler (hoses are trimmed to fit now). I have so many finned aluminum coolers in the front of my car. At one point air has to go though the TR1035 intercooler core, PS cooler or Oil cooler, AC condenser and then the Koyo radiator. Hopefully everything stays cool. Might mess with more ducting if the eventual undertray its cutting it enough.



Hopefully I can get my FMIC hotside back soon and then get the car back on the road. I need to add all new fluids; oil to replaced the cooked stuff, all new coolant, and PS fluid. Then either align it myself to take it somewhere, we will see which I do. There is a local who has a whole portable rig and does track alignments, but he charges $120. so its not the cheapest. Cool looking rig though.

You still have the stock PS cooler?? I couldn't get through 2 track days without blowing a PS pump.

That's a pretty cool rig he's got. conekiller pulls it off with jack stands, but we don't have those fancy corner jacks.

No I have that little baby cooler to replace the stock. Its probably not big enough, but Ive also never had an issue.

Ahh, I looked too quick. Got distracted by the GTR and rig. The tube/fin cooler looked like stock at a glance.

Anything over stock size helps. I guess that one is sufficient?

a basic alignment from Sears or Firestone is like $90 anyway, at least around here, so $120 for a come-to-you track quality alignment doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Yeah the GTR is sexy. I do have my quick alignment tools, so if there is time I might try it myself. And so far the cooler has held up, but I have no way to monitor temps either, so I dont know how effective its being.

Only thing I have local-ish is belle tire, and they are $80 for all 4, but I just dont trust them to do what I want. Guys there seem dumb as a box of rocks. If time becomes an issue I might just pay the guy to do it as he actually does track cars.

The Firestone near me has an in ground rack and charges $70 for custom alignment to any spec I want. Although the manager is a track junky, so he does deals for all the local scca/nasa/Mazda guys since they keep coming back to him.

Midwest meet this past weekend. Worked hard to have the car ready intime, but a last minute leak somewhere kept me from taking the car. Didnt stop @HawkeyeGeoff and I from making it down though. (his MS6 held together long enough to get us there and back thankfully)


After a return from one epicly great weekend, I boost leak tested my car and found my intake manifold TIG was leaking below the cylinder 1 runner. Had a Sure Motorsports TIG on there (I know, I know). Been on there for 4+ years, but finally decided to let go. Luckily Im a parts horder and had a brand new stock gasket lying around, so with a bit of trimming that is good to go and hopefully can be put in this week.


Hopefully this will get my car up and running. I also have a new Kozmic oil feed line coming to replace what I believe to be a very leaky stock turbo feed. Would really love to get things running and clean so I can finish the tune up before winter hits. Want to get out to the track at least one or two more times before the season is over.

So bit of an update. Intake manifold gasket was a fail on a fail on a fail, but it seemed to be fixed now. Sure gasket failed, OEM gasket didnt work (still leaked), Ordered an adapted performance single runner gasket that got lost in the mail. I told asked Steve about it and he got me one out in the mail ASAP. Which was awesome good work @Adapted_Performance customer service like that will keep my business.

So after a few other issues and some RTV (I think something is warped) everything is sealed up. This weekend I did an alignment, got the kozmic oil feed like on (that was a bit more work than I was planning), swapped on a DM PMM (not sure how I feel about the vibes yet with the BSD. Gonna ride it out for a week or 2 and see if I still notice it) mounted my brake duct hoses and lastly made a bracket for my FMIC piping so that it stays put now. It was a busy Saturday.

One other thing Saturday I saw was that I after a few pulls the VC breather cap I got from @VTMongoose was leaking oil all over the valve cover. Figured it was worth a shot. But I had some free time today so I knocked out a baffle that should block off that from happening. Not sure when I will get it installed (this is a spare valve cover I have), but I think it will solve the issue.

Lol valve cover says FoMoCo. I dont know why but it cracks me up how few parts on these cars actually say mazda. I just swapped the original Panasonic battery for a ford one so i guess i made it worse.

Update time. Looks like replacement oil feed may have fixed my oil leak. Ordered new rotors, I think thats my issue with the shake still. I know I checked the ones that are on there, but that was a year ago at this point. I will turn these down if they are out and have them as spare.

Tuning is making awesome progress now that fuel is finally figure out. I have to give a HUGE shout out to Will @Captain KR for doing work on this shit. I know my car likes to be difficult but he has sorted it out and its running sweet. Below is the VD of my 93 DD tune (granted it was 50ish out so that helps power for sure). Super happy with the results.


Now working on the "fuck shit up" E85 tune. Want to see what this turbo can do. Wont run it often, but I do look forward to the spring and the charity dyno event I go to at a classic/muscle car show. Last time I went I won the "Import/compact" category with 365whp lol. Want to put a hurting on them this year.

Last time I was at the event I was on my 3071 and won the highest hp in m catagory (import/compact) with 365. The competition was not fierce

So the car is done for the season. Winters are on, and the tune is "finished". I really wanted to dyno, but the place I go was booked solid for the next 2 weeks plus and I had to get winters on as it snowed Saturday here. So now that will have to wait till spring.

Not really much I want to do over winter. New front rotors before spring need to go on. I really should try and see if I can fit my undertray on now that I think I have fixed all my oil leaks. Maybe pull my fog light housings and try to work on making those not duct tape specials. I have a ton of projects Im working on for other people so I will get to those.

Here is a VD of my 93 and E tune. Is it accurate? No idea, but the car pulls hard and I love how its getting up and going, feels like more than this, but I will find out in the spring. Cant keep the tires stuck to the ground even in a 5th gear log as you can see.

So I plan to just drive it for the next few months and hope to let my wife see it running for a while before I put it up on jack stands again.

The 93 tune looks to be around 4.1 or 4.2, the E85 log Im not sure as I could never get traction in 4th with it being so cold.

Did you ever get a log of, or a different feel for the turbo with the TiAl Vband hotside before you started your port injection tune?

Just curious if there was any increase in efficiency.
