MDB's Ultimate Money Pit

I used to have a two cycle jetskit that had a pump. Being cheap I started premixing when the pump started leaking. I can't imagine why someone would make that change voluntarily

So its been a minute since ive updated this

Fuel pump is in and wired - the filter element on the bottom is a different configuration than stock, so i had to cut the supply hardline on the hanger and spin the pump. Broke a bunch of those hanger mount screws - had to drill in new bolts.

I cut a 1" grommet into the aluminum access plate to feed the new power supply to the pump. Ran the wire down the center console and behind the trunk plastics.

I was toying with the JP3 battery kit but I really do not like the thought of running the cables under the car, and I do not want to run them through the interior - just going to keep the battery and sell the rest of the kit.....

Picked up this battery mount and going to install it in the stock airbox location - https://antigravitybatteries.com/pro...20-mount-mele/

Have a local shop that can make the cables so instead of them being 14' long, they will be less than 4. Going to install them across the front face of the front crossmember behind the radiator

Coolant is filled as far as it can be without turning the motor over - I ordered a pettit racing waterpump pulley kit (including the alternator pulley) since i had to lose the FFE idler pulley

Fresh plugs are in, plug wires are run. Oil topped off, set myself up with RGHTBrainDesign for the tune. Hopefully first start this weekend

Still need to either remove or lower the chassis brace across the tunnel at the midpipe, the vibrant pipe hangs low and touches it. Once the car is running ill have to dress up the harness inside the cabin, nearly there......

took about an hour with the tuner to dial it in enough to drive. still need to burp the coolant system but no leaks on any of the fluid systems which to me is huge

puttered to the gas station to get some fresh 93 in it. fuel level sender isnt working, but small potatoes. tomorrow ill burp the coolant system, check for leaks one more time and put the undertray back on, then the shennanigans start.

Well….shit

Came down this morning and the garage smelled like fuel. Used my little Amazon smoke tester and found the hanger is not sealed. Not much I can do at this point. The tank interior is fine but the hanger mount is cooked. Dabbed some gasket maker on it to close it up. Worked well. Will drop the tank eventually and come up with something better. Definitely want to avoid buying new if I can.

heard what sounded like belt squealing this morning. Hunted it down. Water pump is cooked. Ordered a new one from mazdatrix. Can actually hear it a bit at the end of the video in my last post. Pissed I didn’t catch it earlier.

so it’s back on ramps until the pump comes in……
