Oil Pump rebuild?

Has anyone tried it? Mine looks extremely clean and relatively new, but a lot of people seem to think I should have replaced it when I did my rebuild. I can get the parts that the diagram shows for significantly cheaper that $180 for a new pump.

I'm not terribly fond of reusing oil pumps. If it has a lot of miles, I would seriously consider replacing it. For me, that would be around 80k. We don't have enough super high mile engines to know how long they'll really last or if they're wearing and losing pressure.

There's no inspection procedure in the engine build manual, so no real way to measure anything to see if it's still in spec or not.

Secondly, if the engine blew up and sent debris into the oil pan, it may have gotten sucked into the oil pump. In that case, I wouldn't risk it and replace it. $180 sucks, but it's a lot cheaper that another rebuild.

The oil pump is literally the heart of the motor. I have not found a rebuild guide on the oil pump. Those 2 reasons alone should be enough to warrant a new OEM pump.

Where do you get the pump for that price? Thanks.
 
I surfed eBay and got mine for around $160 or so. Just gotta search the part number sometimes. Oem mazda FTW!

Buenas tardes amigo, estoy haciendo una reconstrucción básica de mi motor, que incluye cambio de metales, aros, sellos, empaquetaduras, etc.
comprar bomba de aceite
de ford, el que recomiendan aquí, cuando llegues, compáralos y son exactamente iguales físicamente, pero fíjate que el mazda oem tiene una tapa con un orificio abierto, mientras que la de ford tiene el orificio cerrado, habrá alguna diferencia , o es solo cuestión de diseño, aquí pongo algunas fotos
