Mark Ortiz's "Chassis Newsletter" articles and Optimum G's Spring & Damper article series. There's also Carrol Smith's book Tune to Win. These aren't biblical truths, so read all the articles you can from any source you can to get a better, truer idea.
Check out the FSAE.com forums for a ton of detailed information on engineering and physics. A lot of it can be applied to normal cars the same way it is to race cars.
