Looks like a solid list. Looking forward to what comes of it. If I were you I'd definitely spend the extra money for head studs as that s257 is more than capable to go beyond what stock head bolts can hold. It's a very fun turbo, my old roommate has one on his cobalt and it moves pretty good even on low boost. You should definitely figure out what a/r housing you've got, I wouldn't go above the 0.82 as it'll really kill spool.

Head studs are the only thing holding you back from holding 600whp (you'd need an intake mani and fuel to get there). Beyond that is where things start to get expensive. Really though, rods, pistons and head studs will take you a long way on this platform.
 
A little updates. Christmas came early. These actually showed up a couple weeks ago. Just forgot to post them up. I am also ready to buy all the gaskets/engine rebuild kit. Probably will put an order in sometimes next week.

The last thing besides the rebuild kit is the intake manifold and fueling. Really leaning towards a full PI system but there's someone local who'd sell a 6th port kit for le cheep.... I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there lol.

Small update:

Spare injectors were tested and cleaned by Mr. Freek himself. I'm going to pick them up next week.

Head is being refreshed by the one and only @KingScumbag #Shedbuilt™. Seems like I'm going to need a cam based on what he found upon inspections. Valves are going to be checked by the machine shop and we'll go from there.

I just gotta say Pat is a saint lol. He puts up with my noobness on a daily basis. I'm surprised he hasn't smacked me in the back of the head by now. Thankful for him.

All the parts for a full rebuild are also on order.

It'll still boogie on stock valvetrain and you'll be good to wind it out to 7500. Just be sure that all valve springs are still within spec.

I've got a few sets laying around, if you need any just lemme know and they're yours for whatever shipping costs.
