Proven Parts List - Common Parts that don't suck

Oh and maybe another suggestion. I've read about this downpipe a ton before I decided to buy it. I don't really buy much from EBay, but the price was great and the reviews from other MS3 owners was great as well.

I've had it for 2+ years and it has been great for me:

M2 Mazdaspeed 3 Cat Delete 3" Stainless Steel Turbo Downpipe 2.3L 4Cyl 2007-2009

Next oil change I'll be running the Mahle/Clevite OX203DECO. Looks about right. I also recently ran the OEM Mazda and before that WIX XP 57203XP. Both fit great.

Not gonna lie, half way tempted to buy one just to have it sitting around just in case they stop selling it this cheap.

Here's a few of the more recent parts I've purchased with good or better results.

Toyota oil filter 90915-YZZD3 (mfg by Denso). For the international folks with a spin-on get your hands on 90915-2004, same size as the YZZD3 but far better filter media.

ATP RA129 cabin filter w/ charcoal

CENTRIC 11758003 Rear Disc Brake Hardware kit (already have the Centric blanks listed)

FLENNOR FL505H Front sway bar links (good fit for those lowered 1" or more) Fitment is for most of the E46 Bimmers

DAYCO 5060900 Poly Rib serpentine belt

Intake manifold to head gasket BECK/ARNLEY 0376112

50mm Delrin shift knob. For the times grabbing a handful of Maisonvi stainless in the dead of winter or August just isn't pleasant. Also a good option too if you brake so hard heavy knobs get thrown out of 2nd gear.

The Flennor FL505H? Are those for coil over setups, do they just fit better? Not as tall?

They aren't specifically for coil overs, more for lowered cars in general. I ran them for a short time before I fabricated adjustable links. I don't have the specific measurements for OEM and the Bimmer links but they are shorter by and inch or so. I'll try and find the figures and send them to you.

Moog endlinks are noisy as hell.
NAPA Gold brake pads arent bad. Some fading at a HPDE @NJMP and no issues after a dozen or so auto x events
Front or rear? My rears are totally silent on a JBR 125 in the middle setting.

My rear are obnoxiously noisy and I hate them. I'll be switching back to OEM soon.
That sucks. I'm sticking with the stronger/more robust and serviceable Moogs, so long as they're quiet. And I have a warranty on them :D

I do too, I replaced them when I did my coilovers install and they've been noisy ever since.

Dang, sucks. Possible QC issue/manufacturing defect? Mine have been quiet since installation. I have had a Moog fail before, though. It was only 1 of the 2, though. I sent both back for 2 warranty replacements so that they'd both be brand-new.

Perhaps it could be. They honestly only bug me in the winter, that's when it gets terrible.

So, the Flennor and others that cross reference to that P/N compare to OEM measurements as shown below. Dimensions are center to center of the attach bolts.

OEM 300mm
E46 M3 270mm

Making the difference 30mm or ~1 3/16"

This difference takes away some of the induced load on the bar when lowing the car and retaining the stock links. At the end of the day will you notice a difference, probably not but if you have a lowered car and need to replace the links go with a better fitment.

Added it, thanks for the info.

Please note that for 2010+ Mazdaspeed3's the OEM spark plug was changed to a different part number that is gapped to 0.028" but is otherwise identical to the ILTR6A8G used in the Gen1 Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed6. The part number is SILTR6A7G.

I used ACDelco 46G0489A FSB end links in my Gen2 with no issues for about a year and a half. They are readily available on Amazon for about $20 each.

I used Supertech 5W-30 full synthetic for quite a while in my pu. Oil reports all came back looking great...no wear metals. Readily available at Walmart and Dexos certified.

Continental Elite 4060900 drive belt was used on my Genpu, no issues. This drive belt has a design that increases longevity via relief cuts in the rubber.
