34 years ago I got my 1st car, a Clementine Orange Volkswagen Superbeetle. Repainted metallic blue. Sold and got a 1977 Sage Green and white Volkswagen Adventurewagen camper. Following that bus was a Honda CRX, a gmc Sonoma POS, and a plethora of Mazdas. 30 years since owning a Volkswagen, I'm back! CX-50 is off to Carmax, and home is Nemo, our 2025 Volkswagen ID Buzz 1st Edition. Energenic Orange and Candy White. Say hi to Nemo.

Initial impression-love it of course. Quiet and smooth. Gotta figure out how everything works.

24 hours with Nemo. My findings:
1) Do not even THINK of picking your nose while driving. Everyone looks. Some take pics. Kids wave.
2) Add 10-15 minutes per arrival and departure of stores when shopping to answer questions. Felt like I new sales guy being asked questions of a car I know minimal about. X
3) If you go to pass slower traffic, be careful, citation to felony in silence is a thing.
4) Crossbars whistle annoyingly. Remove if not using.

Also, new wheels. IMG_8321.jpeg

As a technician seeing a white interior makes me think "dammit now I have to shower and change before I pull this car into the shop"

Are those really the wheels? If so you need some bags on it

Haters will say it is an iphone sticker because it's the same wheel.... It is more of a gray/beige color. Wanted a different one but this was the only option.

How long did it take to remove the cross bars?

Agree with above those wheels need to tuck the tire just a little bit

Less than 5 minutes to swap. Basically, unlock, remove 1 bolt, repeat 4x. Install plug in all 4. Done.

That pic is fake, EB. I have the wheels as a sticker on my phone so I can put them in pics.

Dash cam installed. I'm a long time fan of the brand. Wanted usb power so had to upgrade. Blackvue 970x 2 channel LTE. (Need to run wire to back for that cam. I did have to purchase a USB-C power cord to use mirror. Wish it wasn't like 12 feet.

Pretty easy installation. Fed excess up into headliner.

Now the unit comes with a couple wiring options but I'm stuck on the usb-c. I did try a shorter generic cable on Amazon but would not power it up. This the mile long cable. Maybe if I had wiring tools I could have cut it down but I don't.

Either way, cloud connectivity so any triggers are uploaded. Which is a plus if the camera or SD card is lost in a wreck.

Love that vehicle. Wifey wants one since watching Doug DeMuro's review, and we also saw one in the wild a time or two. I don't like the new wheels overall. The faux hammer-actuated center lug is actually cool, but don't like the rest. But that's just, like, my opinion man. Oh, and fahrvergnügen sticker +++.

Yeah I am so happy to have gotten it. The memories of my old bay window bus are strong. I also am not a fan of the wheels. Hoping a throwback style wheel becomes available. Seen the steelies in Europe but I read they are steel and heavy. Really want lighter wheels with decent aero. The recipe for better distance.

I have 1 decal left to apply. Getting it custom made.
