An off brand "premium" axle from Rockauto.
FVP was the brand. I am emailing them now about how Rockauto is selling it saying it fits but it doesn't and won't exchange it.

Thanx, I added that to the list in the tread about my CV debauchery for future readers. Happen to have the P/N#?

@Sleepin6 suggested Allautoshafts.com and DSS who are both Wimex International. I live north of the border, so they wouldnt ship my way.

How would I go about doing that? I am currently waiting on an email back about it. Basically said that it was attempted to be installed so they wouldn't take back.

I emailed and told them I didn't mean to select that and it is uninstalled and new in original box

I would definitely have ordered upgraded axles if possible but apparently my 4-5k wasn't enough to get "everything" I wanted lol

I will definitely keep bothering them about it as I don't like being ripped off $100.
 
Despite my lack of patience and ability somewhat, I got the job done with my new downpipe. Didn't bother cleaning up the welds so it is as raw as she gets.

In my defense I ran out of stainless rod and actually used 1/8" cut pieces of the stainless pipe as my filler which I felt was a decent idea instead of the carbon rod. o2 didn't end up pointed exactly where I had intended but it all fits and should hopefully work just fine :D

You can call your cc co or go online and dispute a charge. They will ask why and you can simply say the vendor didn't provide what you ordered and won't issue a return/refund
 
Time to try my hand at aluminum apparently lol Water-cooled tig welder be putting in some work lol

Played with some settings to get what I liked so tomorrow I will pick up some rod and have a hand at some joints and fit everything up.

So I have opted for more pie cuts and less couplers lol Hopefully that much welding doesn't bite me somehow but boost leaks should be much less of a problem hopefully!

I test fit the bumper over the intercooler and lets just say it is still sticking out the bottom a bit lol I don't want to cut my crash bar and raise it more in the middle and do a bunch of other stuff so I am just going to leave it be.

Once all the tape is off hopefully the welds look good and you'll be able to see the fit up work I have put into this thing. Tons of work getting perfect fit up on everything but so worth it to me. Just hoping I can weld it myself even though I am new to tig and aluminum especially.

Got it to build fuel pressure through wot gas pedal and cranking it over for 5 seconds or so about 3 times. Then proceeded to fire it up.

You can definitely plug the egr plug into your primary o2 as I did this apparently lol Switched it after not getting any afr signal and all is well!

Got all my intercooler pipe welding finished and I am pleased so far for it being my first time welding anything aluminum and probably under 10th time using a tig welder in my life haha

Turbo is either really loud or possibly needs oiled a bit so I am going to check tomorrow about it along with a boost leak test and bleeding my clutch and brakes.

I haven't welded in a bov yet so I figured that could also be the noise in my video when I rev up and then let off. I will check more into it after getting everything double checked and bled and give her a test drive! @StayFrausty you rocked no bov right? Did it sound weird on idle down after short revs like this?

Got it all bled enough to give it a test drive last night and dang lol The clutch is all at the last inch of the pedal off the floor right now. Hoping I can adjust the pedal for that a good bit as I'm used to it being in the middle more.

Needless to say the test drive went good and it is up and going! Have to do a front end alignment from tie rod replacement really changing things apparently (despite initially counting the threads to be same as old ones). They were point outwards really bad haha

Today is giving her a bath finally, having leaking back wheels fixed and bleeding clutch a bit more at a buddy's exhaust shop on the lift. Also going to check my t-case fluid level because when I tried to fill it before in the car it ran out even though I didn't even put in half a bottle. Need to make sure that isn't low (I feel like it is).
 
So apparently adjusting the MS6 clutch engagement point is stupid easy and amazing! Lol I adjusted it to catch further out and it is in the middle again where it used to be. Such a great thing to have or my experience with this clutch could've gone wayy different! Car is running but seems to need a maf cal possibly. I was tuned for a vta bov and now I am rocking zero bov lol

Got my leaking wheels fixed and after being there 2 hours literally just to have that done I decided to not deal with my alignment just yet. Time for maf cal and hopefully begin tuning after 500 mile mark is hit :)
 
Figured I would give a quick post about the first thoughts of my Clutch Masters CM725 Twin Disc Street series.

It is obviously twin disc and has 2 different materials of friction discs but not exactly sure what they're made of. As far as quality it was extremely high quality from what I seen before install. After my first drive here are my thoughts.

STIFFNESS LEVEL --
Clutch was much more stout than my stock clutch. My pressure plate was most likely very worn out and had spoiled me. Definitely a stiff clutch but not unmanageable.

ENGAGEMENT --
Clutch engagement was VERY low and almost to the floor board but adjusted extremely easily and fixed the issue. It has a very short window to slip and grabs very aggressively. There isn't much slipping this clutch. Take offs are rough but 2nd gear going up is great and smooth. Downshifting requires rev match to be smooth but not bad if you already have a habit of this as I do.

NOISE/FLYWHEEL CHATTER --
Definitely a noticeable constant noise when clutch is out and you're in nuetral but isn't too loud unless you don't want any at all basically. As for driving, I feel it still makes a little noise but not as noticeable since you're driving. I hear drivetrain noise that I didn't really hear before so yeah.. When clutch is in the noise completely goes away.

I also noticed a noise that sounds like a chirping or the belt slipping slightly only on initial take off. I have heard other twin discs do this too until well broke in sometimes even a couple thousand miles.

OVERALL --
Its great quality, can't slip it much but I'm sure it will hold all the power I can make (which is most important), and good for a DD only if you have a half decent left leg and don't mind a slightly rough take off.

* Note- this is definitely NOT a stop and go all the time type choice.
 
Give it some time to break in and maybe it will improve. Did you change to stiffer mounts during this process? That could be a reason there is more noise now.
Yes I added a drivers side DM mount. I think the rear diff mount is shot too (which I need to replace soon) which I'm sure will help drivetrain movement and all that too..

I have only driven the car about 50 miles so things are extremely fresh at this point. I might end up trying to get the mount back that bolts the transfer case to the engine block to help things not break haha
 
Have been driving a bit and have around 75 miles on the new setup thus far. Here is a couple mini pulls to just see where I'm at with boost and afr and all that.

Running rich and more more boost than I wanted for my first map but this is the 10th rev from my cst4 so it isn't really a tune for this turbo per say. Timing is too spicy for first rev but the fuel is rich which I prefer over lean obviously so I will take it for now to just get some driving miles in.

Looking like I'll be a little over 20psi on this spring setup even though I cracked it with 15psi and fully opened it about 17-18 before installing the motor.

I'll get a video soon to show the sounds of this crazy thing lol People with BT setups probably find this as the usual but start up is insane just because hearing the turbo wind up lol
