Ok, so I will try to make this post short:

I took my car into the dealership to get my dash replaced about two weeks ago. After picking up my car, I started to make my way home and after about 5-6 miles I noticed that my headligh indicator light came on my dash. It had never done this before so I toggled my switch from "auto" to "off" and back again only to have the headlights come on again. I brought it back to the dealership to have them look at it and they are now telling me its my daytime running lights that are coming on, not my headlights. As far as I know, speeds do not have DTRs, even the ones with the tech package, with maybe the exception of the 2013 PUs.

I'm trying to get them to fix the sensor that they damaged and they are trying to give me every excuse in the book. Can someone please confirm that we do not have DTRs? I would look at my owner's manual but its currently in my glove box and the car is at the dealer.

My car is an '11 with Tech and this is what my headlights look like when the "Auto" function is turned on:

and my tail lights turn on too....

On the good side, I got to test drive two of the new Mazda6 GTs - these things are fun as hell....the blue one had two miles on it when I got it.

I'm not sure how replacing the dash would affect this unless they had to remove the windshield. The light sensor should be the same thing as the rain sensor as far as I know.

my '13 tech does not have drls. Is there anything hanging from your rear view mirror? I thought the sensor was up there.

NO. speeds do not have DRL. I mean common guy just open the owners manual and hand it to the tech and say OK SHOW ME THE PAGE THAT SAYS I HAVE DRLS.........

He probably pulled the cluster out and smashed the stalk the lights are on fucking it up.
I am serious thou RTFM..

I believe the light sensor is in the front of the dash by the passenger side. I have a 2012 non-tech, and I have the plastic cover for it even though I don't have the auto lights.

If it makes you feel any better, when I took mine in last month for the dash board replacement they forgot to plug in my temp sensor for the auto A/C. The dash fan wouldn't go over the second speed.

The 2011 techs have the halogen bulb thats to the left of the projector housing if your looking at the drivers side head light (the corner closest to the grill). The dealer might consider those to be day time running lights since I think you can have them on without the headlights being on but I don't believe its automatic. I took those bulbs out on mine though since it looks terrible with the tech HIDs.
