That's all relieve to the track, right? I have autoX'ed faster times than a Z06, Miata's ect. Go to a different course and they will be seconds faster.
Good point. Part of the FoST's nanny functions is selectively applying brakes on various corners for sharper turn-in/less understeer. That may help handling, but heating up brakes even more so than from normal use isn't a good thing when tracking.This track is a bit longer than most autox courses but only has 2 not real long straights. A layout pic of the track is attached. Disregard the shitty freehand of the route.
Also I stand corrected on the racecarishness of the MSM (also it's on BCs not ricelands like I previously thought). It's still a street car, but modified quite a bit more than the MS3.

Sounds like the -07up civics. When you get in track action the car thinks you are going out of control and will use only the front brakes which burns them up real fast. I was talking with some guys at the track this weekend and they came into the conversation on how fast brakes go away.Good point. Meh, nothing that can't be cured on a Speed with good spring rate choice, dampers (esp. custom valved), and sway bars/settings.Yup the focus's e diff is a total joke. However... i know, the rear geometry changed, im certain that is the larger impact on handling.

I know that the FoST's use different a RSB/endlinks setup. I had no idea about the actual suspension members/shocks/springs configuration.The change in the rear suspension is that the electronics will drag the rear inside brake of the ST to give the feeling of handling better. There is no material change in the rear suspension setup which makes it amazing compared to the MS3, it is all electronic trickery
I agree, based upon you sharing there's no appreciable mechanical differences/geometry. And the short of it is that it using the braking system to do so heats things up, which is especially undesirable when tracking/driving road courses/auto-xing/or any other 10/10ths driving scenario. What may be fun on a DD and feel "responsive" is a significant liability and even a weakness for legitimate performance driving.Im not saying the spring rates and dampers are the same. Im saying that those changes are not what created the ability to rotate the rear, that is entirely a product of the electronics.
