Looking at GPS to help me measure my track times. Right now I tried using my phone but I get a feed back rate of around 0.5-1 Hz which isn’t really helpful if im trying to see how Im improving. So right now Im using my go-pro to get approximate times but that kind of sucks too.
I was looking at these two below as recommended by Harry’s lap timers site. I don’t know if these are good or bad or what. Anyone have any experience? My budget isn’t the highest for this, and as I track around 3 times a year I don’t plan on making a big investment in something better but way more expensive.
SkyPro XGPS160 GPS
Garmin GLO Portable GPS
Both offer 10 Hz with the garmin being much cheaper. I don’t know if I even need 10 Hz. Is 5Hz acceptable in peoples opinion?
This is all somewhat new ground for me, so Im looking for anyone who hits up the road courses opinions. Thanks.
