OK so first off, I was recently thinking about getting a Kia Stinger with the TT v6 as a possible replacement for the Speed. Previously, I had been looking for something older that still ran and could be easily v8 swapped, but nothing was really coming up that tickled me. Looking at new cars, they are all DI (which I'd like to avoid in a new car if possible, for upgrade reasons), and super expensive (the fully loaded Stinger is > $50k). Then there's the other issues, like comfort; the Speed has been a perfect fit for me since the first time I ever sat in it (and I'm on the bigger side, so finding something that fits so well is even more difficult). I also like how it handles and drives, and, well, I'm just used to it.
So all that said, I'll be keeping the speed and getting a new motor for it (again, built to my spec but by someone that knows what they are doing).
As for the current engine, I've still not done any diagnostics; no matter what I find, it's not likely going to fix all the issues the car has with it. I'm almost certain the cams aren't right, and the piston design is probably the biggest issue, so it makes sense to just start over from scratch as far as the engine goes.
I was going to do a big post here about the gameplan for the new setup, but now I'm wondering if I should just start a new thread and let this one die so the two different setups (and issues) don't overlap. Thoughts?
