New car problems

Just because it was rebuilt recently doesn't mean it was done correctly unfortunately

Agree completely, and as I'm going through everything in this thats becoming evident. I guess if he couldn't tighten bolts down properly, I cant expect a motor to have been built properly. Is there any way to tell if it's ringlands for sure other than pulling the motor?

Hi,

I'm new to the mazdaspeed and this forum. I just purchased an 07 speed 6 a few weeks ago. I'm trying to go through and correct/fix some things, but running Into a few road blocks. Car has 115,000 on it and from what I'm told motor has about 4,000. Pretty extensive list of mods, but I can't tell if they are all actually there or not. I just replaced the valve cover gasket because it was leaking and while doing so noticed the ewg was loose and there was only 1 of the 4 studs on the turbo manifold. Put bolts on there for now. So the car is in the middle of being tuned by freak tune and dramatune. Both tuners have said the ebcs isn't doing anything and is just running on spring pressure. The car has a corksport 3port ebcs. Its plummed for an interrupt set up. When I first look I noticed the hoses to the intake and turbo were backwards and the ebcs wasn't plugged in, I switched and plugged. Now I'm only hitting about 7lbs of boost and there is a fluttering noise when getting into boost. Am I missing something, or is the ebcs shot?
Also even though I've seen a lot of it on here, I have white smoke out of the exhaust, burning oil smell under boost, oil coming out of wastegate dump tube, and oil in intercooler piping. Turbo should be as new as the motor and is a cs cst6. Do I need to replace pcv valve and add a catch can for this.

Sorry for the long post, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Whoever built it did a pretty decent Job, just by looking at . I also recommend getting occ to relieve pressure of crankcase and for your boost problems check the wastegate it's supposed to have 3 springs for 18 psi since your running on spring pressure itself I bet that's what it is , he might have put one or two instead of 3. The colors if I'm correct should be white, Blue , gunmetal , also try contacting the last owner he or she may be able to help you more

Yes you can check your rings by doing a leak down test. It will probably tell you if a ring is bad
