Supertech makes great products, just not popular enough on the platform to have a track record. I`d put them up against Wiseco any day.

You kinda went head deep with the expenses but if it`s not an issue for you that`ll be a hell of a build. You WILL need some kind of aux fueling or you`re just going to be pissing your money away. That`s easily a 500whp build, and stock fuel system won`t do more than about 370.
 
I haven't heard of anyone using them on this plateform which makes me a little weary of them. Personally I would go with something that's known for this plateform.

I dont have choice ... my cylinder #3 left me and i Want to keep my speed3 ... i really like pocket rocket ... so now i Want a reliable setup for long term
 
Another idea is look into the SP Pistons. They're made of a different alloy and last longer other Pistons.

4032 alloy pistons will have a longer service life, and are perfectly reliable for a 500whp build. I will be using them on my own build this week.

There aren`t any options other than OEM injectors for our cars. If you`re going to make the most of the setup you have planned you`ll need either 5th/6th port injection (an auxiliary system that adds one or two injectors, usually before the throttle body), full on port injection (having an intake manifold with provisions for direct port fuel injectors and a fuel rail), or a decent methanol system (typically the simplest route). They all have their pros and cons, but the fact remains that the OEM injectors simply do not flow enough fuel to squeeze more than about 370whp out (not safely, anyway. I have heard tales of turning injector duty cycles up well over 100% but I shouldn`t have to speculate what risks that entails).

A properly tuned port injection system is probably the most "permanent" way to do it, but by far the most expensive.

Methanol injection is very popular, and it`s plenty effective, but it has it`s drawbacks. Not the least of which having to find somewhere to buy your methanol and having to make sure your methanol tank stays full (oh yeah, you`ll need a tank for your methanol). Methanol does a fantastic job of keeping your intake charge cool, particularly important if you live in a hot location.

5th/6th port is a great middle ground between the two. You`re not forced to spend a thousand dollars on a manifold PLUS the hardware for the injection system.

I am running a methanol system now, and it does it`s job (was turning just over 400whp and it was a perfectly safe tune). There is a very, very high likelihood that I will be doing a 5th port setup on my new build (running one extra injector in a fitting made to go inline with the intercooler cold piping) and cutting back on the methanol.

If you want a "set it and forget it but keep it affordable" set up, 5th/6th port is definitely my suggestion. With a 5th port you probably won`t even need a bigger in-tank fuel pump for a solid and reliable 400whp build.

which kit do you recommend to run this 5th port ... what I need ... must I use the JMF V2 for this ???

No, the beauty of the 5th port system is that you don't need a $1k manifold and it's easy to install. Kozmic makes an all in one 5th port kit that's proven to be reliable.

ok but I want to solve the problem of inbalance in cylinder #3 with the OEM IM so ... I think the JMF will be the best to solve this ...

of course. If you don`t mind spending the money then by all means get it. It`s certainly not going to be any kind of detriment.
 
If I order a brand new SPEED3 engine from Mazda Canada ... they will take it from Chicago USA but I want to know ... do you think this engine will have the new VTT revision ??
 
Btw I spoke with my engine builder and he said the balance shaft has nothing to do with oil starvation. The oil squirters still push out the same amount of oil, the balance shaft only adds extra oil capacity which is nice for track days.

I thought oil squirters were only for piston cooling. Crank splash onto the cylinder walls is for proper oiling/avoiding starvation, IIRC. That was the issue with the balance shafts - they blocked splash up into cylinder 3.

The GTX2867r is a 47 lbs/min turbo. This very likely won't get you close to 500whp. Consult a reputable tuner for more on this. Justin only his 445whp on his, and with head work (don't take my word on it). Found the info I referred to in the other thread:

Lex from Stratified referred to the 2867 as a 440whp turbo for most folks (without that extra engine work).

He never specified 500hp, that was me. A sweeping generalization intended only to imply the setup could do well over 400hp. The GTX2867R is a bad b***h. And our OP is really just concerned about his choice of components as it relates to build reliability, so HP is very much just a secondary topic.

I guess I could have just said "yeah man, that combo will rip ass. Give it enough fuel and treat it right and it`ll be everything you said you wanted it to be"

I hear ya. And I agree that the GTX2867r is a verrrry nice turbo. It spools faster than an S3 and has the top-end ~ that of a CS or S4. The only downside is price, but it's just a few hundred more. I didn't see him shooting for 500whp; I was just saying that if he is (and just didn't say it), he should go bigger.
 
I'm looking right now just to avoid any further problem I will keep my K04 for the moment and go with a WMI setup on my JMF IM to avoid excessif heat in the engine ...and have reliabilty max out ... I will choice the windshield washer tank + meth bung on the JMF IM with devil's own material with 4 x DO2 nozzles etc etc ... and when everything will be nice or my K04 dead I will go GTX2867R after or even GTX30XX.

Right now ... I'm looking for the best option for me for rod + piston in 4032 Alloy ... Speed Performance doesn't suggest me to go with Supertech ... because of failing rates !?!?!? they suggest their rod + piston ... I'm a Canadian so I searching the best possibility for me for the best price to build my engine ... locally or keep all my stuff from US and import ...
