Well update. time for a story. i had a weekend let me tell you what.
it started off when i finished bedding in my brakes on thursday. i was trying to make it to Speed Academies(local Canadian youtubers) youtuber lapping day at the track.
i had to sort out my horrible exhaust leak first though. its been killing me all season, slowing my turbo spool to the point where i wasnt even making full boost anymore. it felt the worst, i didnt even want to drive the car to bed in the brakes lol...
well what did we find? leak exists between turbo and manifold. jeez. so i began friday at lunch time by pulling off the heatshield to reveal i was completely missing 1 nut, and the other 3 were hand tight. i though "great, ill go get some nuts, tighten it up and good to go!!" boy was i wrong.
tried to tighten shit up and this happened...

i was ready to end my career and retire. part out? yea it sucked. after freaking out for 10-15 minutes i made the decision i would spend saturday pulling my turbo, to patch it up for the track sunday.
pull turbo
replace stud
slap in new gasket
tighten shit

well saturday was definitely a fun day...took me about 5 hours total. it sucked for sure but i got it done. take a look at this LOL
slid in the new gasket then lifted the turbo back into position and started installing a new stud

generic stud from the local Canadian version of harbor freight. good enough. i double nutted everything i could, the rest...we will recheck soon.
either way, car was back together. first test drive, looked at the gas pedal a little and BAM!! waste gate screaming, holyyyyyyyyyy fuck we're back baby and we're fucking boosting.

welp, i DID make it to the track sunday and it was absolutely incredible. due to the event, there were a TON of cars out lapping, most of them more serious track guys with proper track etiquette. three run groups, fast, faster, fastest. i kept ending up in the fastest group but it was ok!! videos below.
THE BRAKES
so i ran the stop tech included pads which are their 309 sport pads. basically an OEM+ sort of pad, light auto X use, back road beatings, but thats about it. the instructions recommend swapping them out before tracking...meh.
first 2-3 laps i had what felt like infinite stopping power, i was braking WAY too early and i already brake on the later side. the car would haul down from speed so quickly it was get out of sorts and squirm around. what a feeling. as i did laps though i did begin to cook the pads pretty bad and had a soft pedal most of the day. i bled the fluid track side and no bubbles, so must just be the pad dying. no matter, just keep sessions sorter and did more cool down laps in between. one thing i will say, modulation with this BBK is insane. every bit as good as OEM, maybe better. press harder? get more stoppage. press softer? less stoppage. perfect.
with a race pad like my gloc R12's this kit will be insane. i was finally able to get my RE71s to hit ABS on track, with the OE caliper and my gloc pads i wasnt able to get into ABS. too much tire? not a bad thing.
even with the soft pedal i was still giving the brakes the beans and they were fucking working. its an expensive kit but i would buy it again, every. single. time. fuck its good.
some footage below, i ran a new personal best on sunday, without even thinking. i was in auto pilot mode just sending it along and i remember thinking "fuck we're flying here boys, lets turn the timer on" i timed one good lap, 6 tenths faster then my previous personal best. WITHOUT EVEN TRYING. yup. ill take it. car was so gripped up, made allllllllllllllllll 325whps like on demand, rotated like a rwd, and just fucking flew. i was just hanging on enjoying the ride at this point. amazing.

me following my buddy in his SRT4. he makes like 280-290whp, and weighs like 500lbs less then me with driver in the car. was fun to follow him around and see what hes doing
well thats really it for now. if you asked me "what does the car need" id tell you nothing after sunday. i also know i went even faster but i didnt time it. thats ok. i know the car is capable, i am not.
