Building for the road course...again

No front bar seems to have added some compliance up front. Something. More grip. Way I see it, more rear bar makes the car more loose, more front bar usually tightens it up, adds understeer. No front bar should be as loose as it gets but I will definitely roll over the tire.

I’m going to try the softer oem bar
You are changing the front and rear roll rates. It'll be interesting to see how much it lifts the inside rear. This could become a problem with trail braking.

I know what you mean about how it feels. I thought my old SMF car felt good, then I went to a softer front bar. I got the same feeling you got, but now it was "pogo" sticking on the front tires and lifting the inside rear a lot.

so previously, the car was a tripod king. always three wheeling everywhere. This was due to almost no droop in the rear, then of course the rear bar eventually just ends up lifting that inside rear wheel. Always during trail brake/initial turn in.

I have much more droop now, and i am thinking to dial in more rear droop as i dont seem to be at all compression travel limited back there. I also expect the rear needs less compression travel vs the front.

Will really have to get on track and test all of the things!

I roll the tire over on street tires with a hotchkis front (soft, but still way stiffer than most)

dont need no front bar where we're going lol....maybe. We will see anyways. There are a few 8th gen civics running around with no front sway bar but most likely more spring rate, and most guys run WAY too much static camber to compensate for tire roll over
braking and throttle application dont matter to these guys i guess

Car hit the scales today.

not only is it 200lbs lighter than I guessed but my eyeball setup is clearly crazy good. This is before any adjusting lol. Unreal. Light weight battery not yet installed. Working on a mount for that.

Oem weight 2886. Not sure how I got so much out of it. Still full interior with speakers and radio.

Went by the machine shop. Finally they were letting people pick stuff up.

Seems I was notified late. Somebody stole my fucking pistons. Checked every inch of the shop. High and low. Not only were all brand new looking things gone but my pistons and arp 2000 bolts as well as timing cover bolts are all gone. Stolen.

The old guy with the key who let me in mentioned someone else grabbed some Honda stuff and most likely took my pistons. Of course with no records of anything the only man who knew what was what is dead so that’s about it.

My pistons are gone. My block was bored and honed to those pistons so the last block he worked on for me is also throwaway now as I ain’t buying fucking Wiseco pistons with my own money that’s for sure.

Fuck me. Part out time.

i will begin a part out soon. rods and rod bolts will go for sale first. since i dont have the box ill probably get 1/3 of that 1250usd setup. wonderful.
Block is useless as im not buying wiseco shit again so thats fucked.

what a fucking struggle. I dont think i will make another season with 190hp it is getting very very boring.

we just heard from the guy we think took my pistons. He swears he doesnt have them and has told us to shut up about it. They are confirmed gone for good.

I am just feeling beat down. motivation is gone. i have registered for 3 race weekends so far, paid in full. Ill complete those then re-evaluate wtf im doing here. It should not be this hard to make 240hp. You would think im upset my engine doesnt make 1000hp reliably. Im looking for peanuts here.

My biggest concern is this engine wont last the season. It is already 20% leak down in cylinder 2 and that wont get any better. The car will only get slower as the season goes.

I am between parting out completely after my 3 race weeks, OR buying ANOTHER fucking oem long block and just doing the OEM+ special. this gets me to 9000rpm and ~230whp, but it also wont last. borrowed time for sure.

I can only fight so much. this shouldnt be so hard. i guess i understand why people come up with creative and bullshit reasons for not tracking their built car. makes sense now. its fucking hard

That guy might have it might not. Literally no idea.

Might just find whatever the cheapest piston is with similar specs and send it. Idk. I’m pretty annoyed

Yea. I can’t say for sure but it’s possible. At this point I’ve written it off. I can’t do shit about this.

I’ll need to find pistons that’ll work with this block if I want to finish this engine. Fuck sakes

I really hope so. I am big time bummed about it. Sad more than mad even.

I guess I need a set of pistons now. Fuck.

I’ve decided I can’t toss the block. I feel like maybe it’s a sign. I’m not meant to have Wiseco in my engine.

My first Wiseco pistons took out my entire engine.
Now my second set gets stolen?
Idk. I’ve probably gone crazy here but maybe it’s meant to be.

I am between Supertech, the cheapest option, and CP, the most expensive option. About $350 price different between them. Not sure if that’s worth the 240hp this setup will make, but like…CP. shits gangster

If I could find a way to buy the good stuff I would. Durability is my main priority when it comes to track stuff.. The BPT I put together was built to handle 400 - 500hp. In reality I'll be running 300ish..

Yup absolutely agree. Got a great quote on CP from realstreet performance. They reached out to CP directly and spoke to an engineer. CP recommends I get their upgraded wrist pin for my needs. Think about how insane that sounds lol. RPM really is a level of stress beyond boost.

I am basically trying to find the best deal. Realstreet price is great but they mentioned I’d get murdered on tariffs. Fuuuuuck

just stick them in your ass and drive over the border
I am legit thinking of this as the solution. My parents have a time share in Buffalo they’re there all the time but of course this time…they ain’t going until July. Fuck lol.

I am considering shipping to my homie in Baltimore then he reships and puts the value as 200$? Maybe?
