Intake Manifold

Vcts deleted does not cause any monitors to be "not ready" the monitors are misfire, o2, heated o2, cat, evap and egr. So nothing to do with runner controls.

Well that's good to know!

Now can we use an o2 extender on the 2nd sensor as a temp fix to pass emissions and then remove for norm driving

Thanks, Justin. Good to see you here! I heard you got a CEL disabling the VTCS, but didn't know too much about it.

All that is needed is a bracket to leave the control solenoid plugged in. As long as the ecu sees it no error.

And I'm guessing we'll be avoiding the cold-start stumbling issues too? That'd be a win all around.

No as far as i know the cold start issue is that the ecu is programmed to use the tumble induced by the vcts system and with it missing the cold start sucks.

But supposedly and @PapaSmurf would be able to confirm it holding the throttle part way on the start will avoid the issue.

I do part-throttle starts as a rule to spare my neighbors from the free-flowing exhaust noise, LOL

Dufuq did you come from lol.

Atvfreek is back huh? Lol

Correct
Holding the throttle on cold start does reduce and eliminate high RPM/Cold start

The map sensor is on the front of the manifold
I must've been thinking about the Fiesta ST, or maybe something else entirely, LOL. Got my wires crossed.

Don't know why I never got notifications from this but oh well. All I can say is that the numbers the DM guys posted are more pertinent to us than the ones that SP63 posted on the ST forum.

How much is the manifold and adapter plate combined going to weigh roughly compared to a bone stock intake manifold (VTCS installed)?

Hmmmmm. Do want.

Especially interesting tidbit of info that the VCTS doesn't throw a code. I was always under the impression it did which is why I never considered another manifold before. Looking forward to seeing some impressions since I'm nowhere near my car for the next 4 months.
