Your Intake Manifold and You

Sounds like a super-easy fix to me. Drill/tap/use larger fasteners with greater thread engagement. Should it be on the end-user to fix problems like this? No. But is having to think on your feet and come up with custom solutions common in the aftermarket/modding community? Absolutely. And if it flows well and evenly, I'll gladly do so. I will say this: it's too pricey to have issues like that, though. It's pricey regardless.

Unless you plan on adding material to the flange on both sides you arent going to get a good thread engagement and the larger fastener would only increase the likelyhood of over tightening.

There isnt enough material at the junction to create a strong seal.

Dustin is the only person who fixed his and that was by welding it shut.

Too much trouble. Hopefully CP-e fixed it, then. They better have, at that price.

What are peoples thoughts on the 16w Intake manifold?

No data etc provided but myself and a friend have bit the bullet and ordered them

I can't really even find any info on what it looks like (fully).

To me, it seems like a nice mix of the JMF and FoST manifolds haha.

They'll be installed initially with the PI bungs blocked off to compare them on our current stock block setups:

MPS 3 - PTE 5858, 98RON, Stock IM
MPS 6 - GTX2867, 98RON+Meth (CM10), Ported IM with VTCS delete

Hmm, I like the design a lot better than the CPE, but you can't beat the price of the FoST and it still has the same failings as most all the current aftermarket offerings: inlet angle to head (straight on vs angled).

Ultimately, that should be a minor issue, but for those looking to make huge power it can make a difference.

Looks nice. And is that a provision for PCV I see? That would be very nice. I'm surprised it's absent in some of the other options. Heck, they could have it as either a threaded barbed fitting or a plug at least, you know?

@Redline theres only the single Vacuum Port on that prototype model. A few of us queried this and were told to run a vacuum block.

Damond Motorsports are apparently supplying the TB Harness extension for the 16w IM and they just so happened to tease a Vacuum Block of their own

16w did say that they were looking to add extra ports though so we'll see soon enough

Possibly the largest flaccid letdown to ever happen to this platform.

Its probably awesome if you are on the ko4 and only worried about looking cool at car shows.

What you mean besides the standback?

I dont know what your stance was but when i joined the old forum the standback was the greatest thing since sliced bread and it was full on pitchforks for the ap. That was right in the middle of the first load cap issue though.

I also feel like i have not seen shit from cpe since justin blew the manifold, did they give up?

I have a 16w mani on order as well. I've talked with Anthony (owner of 16w) about it a bit. The runners are tapered so while their angle to the head is the same, the runner itself will flow into the head better. Once again, only really going to be noticed on large power builds.

Awesome, are you going to be able to flow test it prior to installing it?
