Your other red car is definitely not slow but everyone knows silver is the fastest pu color
Haha. I’m so curious on track performance with the civic. It’s almost stock and realistically about 200whp(was tuned on a hub dyno, we know those read little high). Will be heading to the track soon with my ms6 buddy. He just did full suspension all the way around. Adjustable everything with coil overs. I still think I can go faster then him(he’s light on driver mod). Would be bad ass to go faster then him. He will cry.

Probably the last we’ll see on my car for a while now. Yes I have something else to fuck with but I wasn’t ready for the Mazda to be broken for this long, and already. Definitely sucks. I tried. Next year will hopefully be the one. Lots of time to rebuild lol.

Yea. I’m not the first and won’t be the last. Maybe the first on this platform but being realistic...any shop would’ve told me “you need a motor” so how often is that the answer vs TRY EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING.
I am experiencing a similar issue right now. My oil cooler lines puked out all 7.5qts or so while the car was parked on the street. I just removed them and capped off the an fittings on the sandwich plate to get by for now. However, after filling it with oil, my oil pressure light is still on. I think I need to prime the pump in a similar fashion

Based on your description yes you may need to prime the pump. It’s possible to do this without dropping the pan. I read people
Go in through the oil pressure switch on the filter housing and pressurize the pump from there by squirting in oil. Either need to buy the specific tool or make something

I was thinking of just removing the oil filter and cranking the engine over without starting it.

I did that for a while and it wasn’t until we loaded the pump up with Lucas oil that it actually primed and oil started coming out of the filter housing

Yeah nothing coming out of the oil filter housing while cranking. How again exactly did you fill the pump up? With the pan off?

Pan off, pick up tube off, filled the pump up with a ton of Lucas oil then put the pick up back up. Fill it up as well. Then I just hung the pan up with like 3 bolts filled a few quarts of oil and started priming with the filter off. Nothing was coming out at first then I started the car and it was pouring out. Put the filter back on and it was ok.

Update. Mazda’s still broken. What else is new.

this thing on the other hand has been an absolutely blast to drive. I cooked whatever was left of the brakes lastnight. It’s getting a budget bbk which my buddy just grabbed from the wreckers for $20. Tsx front calipers pads and rotors. Pretty big upgrade. Bolts directly on.

Car is registered for time attack competition September 25th. The class is full of miatas, a wrx, a mustang, and the guy who’s been winning? 2018 Hyundai Elantra sport 1.6turbo. Fuck I wanna beat that guy bad.

I am very much so missing my Mazda. The power. The torque. At least this thing is a blast to rip around it. You can go wot 1,2,3,4 and still barely be speeding. It’s funny

Booked a track day for next weekend. Fuck it. This summers been such a bummer. I haven’t done shit expect have a broken car. Fuck that.

track is calabogie motorsports park. It’s 5 hours away. This is a huge once a year event. I registered with the civic.

the track is amazing. More suited for the Mazda and its high power band(next year!!)

look at it. Awesome.

Just for shits and giggles. If you have a sandwich plate and cap off the in/out AN fittings, you will lose oil pressure! I removed the oil plate and had oil pressure instantly while cranking. The struggle is real y'all

Well...this isnt MY mazdaspeed but it is a mazdaspeed so it can go in my thread haha....

hit up the track on monday. Funny enough there was a red gen2 there. modest build, intake, 3" turbo back straight pipe, ISC coils, NT05 tires, and that was about it. Freektuned. Was a fun battle for sure. not sure on the driver level on the MS3 guy but he mentioned to me hes been racing bikes on track for sometime...so whatever experience thats worth!

I feel dirty taking out one of our own...haha
