My gauge shows 0. Oil light is on. I seriously don’t know wtf this would be unless the oil pick up tube literally dropped off when I changed my oil. That’s all that would make senseUnless you vented the block or something noticeably catastrophic, I would lean towards troubleshooting the light first.
I considered swapping the oil filter just in case but the oem switch being in the filter housing, it should still read more then 0 even if the filter was doing some weird shit(oem filter from Mazda btw).Man, I totally understand the frustration. This is the same type of shit that happens to me on a seemingly regular basis lol. Let's take a step back for a second though. It had oil pressure just before, and was running great it sounds like. Then you changed the oil, now we have two separate gauges that are reading 0 basically. Is it possible that something catastrophic happened during the oil change and the motor is toast? Sure, it's possible I suppose. Is it the simplest explanation? Maybe not.
If it was me, I'd be going back and checking everything that you just touched. Hell, I'd probably throw a new oil filter on there just to rule out any weirdness that might have happened there.
Hope you get it figured out and it's something simple and not catastrophic.
video does sound clean but im terrified to start it again. i ran it for maybe 1 minute total.Do you hear any knocking? Video sounds clean to me when you started it up.
originally i was like fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk maybe forgot one of those but each time i pulled the dipstick nice clean fresh oil allllllllllllllllllllllll the way to full. drain plug went back on with a new crush washer even. You put the drain plug back in and put oil in right?
Drop the oil pan and check the oil pickup line and bearings.originally i was like fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk maybe forgot one of those but each time i pulled the dipstick nice clean fresh oil allllllllllllllllllllllll the way to full. drain plug went back on with a new crush washer even.
fuck me.
Yes. This will be my next step. If nothing suspect, if everything looks as it should, the motor will have to come out I guess.Drop the oil pan and check the oil pickup line and bearings.
Basically this. Yea.Just go drink a beer or six on the porch it will be there tomorrow
Oil pump was replaced about 2 months ago with a new oem unit. After that pressure was fantastic even at huge oil temps. No issues until my track day.Didnt you have questionable oil pressure with this engine from the beginning?
It could just be a bad oil pump, or broken pick up tube like you said.
No. But both sensors reading 0? There’s no way. I’ve never ever seen the oil light come on this car. Wasn’t even sure if it works but it definitely works.Did you check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and if so did it still read zero?
